 Situation:

You are hired as a consultant to improve the safety and security of a beach resort located in
Catalagan Batangas. The owner of the said business would like you to know the following:

a.)Which is better to adopt in the business, risk avoidance or reduction?

b.) Risk transfer or retention?

c.) Potential hazard, and risk attending the business of beach resort.

d.) Preventive and contingency measure appropriate to the risk attached in the business of
beach resort.

a.) An old pipes in catalagman batangas beach resort have tendency to leak especially
under or around the bar counter, that could possibly go wrong, the customer or the
employee might slip or fall. In these case it is better to adopt risk reduction the risk
avoidance, because risk reduction talks about how to deal with mitigating potential
losses while risk avoidance is not performing any activity that may carry risk.

b.) When someone slip or fall because of the leakage, we should adopt the risk retention, we
should accept the risk that occur inside our premises, it is our obligation to prevent it and not
the others. we should give first aid immediately to the person that slips or fall and call an
ambulance. Having a plan on an early time on how to prevent a risk that might happened in
the future is a good idea , you will be alert and prepared when it will happened in the future.

c.) The potential hazard and risk that might happened when the old pipes leaked, the
customer or the employee might slip or fall, broke their bones, got bruise to their body
parts, or worse they might bumped their head on something sharp that could lead to
their deaths.

d.) The old pipes got leak, it may cause danger to the people inside our premises. In
order to avoid this kind of accident or problem we should always check our
surroundings inside our premises if there is something wrong. If there is actually
something wrong we should take care of it or fix it immediately to avoid any danger,
when if it not immediately fix or take care of we should put signage or warn the people
inside our premises.

Preventive Measures
- To prevent the risk at the beach we should put signage to warn the customer. Also put
some rules to follow at the beach, hired a life guard and build a medical clinic and
medical team.
 Contingency Measure
- If a risk actually occur there is a life guard and the medical team to give the first aid
or help that person needed.
