Flanged Nestable Corrugated Steel Pipe
FLANGED NESTABLE CORRUGATED STEEL PIPE derived from Canada Culvert’s STEELCOR consists of half-round sections of CSP with external side flanges that are easily bolted together to form a circular CSP. Originally developed in the early 1930’s to facilitate overseas shipping, sections can be nested into compact, easy-to-handle bundles allowing for economical transportation for long-haul distances, remote sites, or international destinations.

The steel corrugated sections are Galvanized (Z610) or
Aluminized Type 2 for added durability in accordance with CSA G401, with corrugation profile of 68 x 13mm. The corrugated sheets are fabricated in standard lengths with an effective laying length of 610mm, with half-length sections of 305mm. The sheets are available in various thicknesses, including 1.6mm, 2.0mm, 2.8mm and 3.5mm to meet most structural design requirements.
Modern Applications
Flanged Nestable CSP is used for culverts, storm sewers, drains,
conveyor covers, casings, and utilidors. This product is espe- cially useful for installations around existing utility lines, under buildings, and can be used as an economical concrete form.
Fastening Method
Pre-drilled holes make Flanged Nestable CSP quick and easy
to assemble. Field assembly is accomplished by bolting the sections together along the 50mm wide flange with galvanized 10mm bolts and nuts. Joints can be sealed with caulking tape for greater soil tightness.
Positive joint connection is ensured by staggering the top and
bottom sections. To complete the stagger, two half-length sections (305mm) are also provided. Circumferential bolting is recommended on sizes 1200mm and larger.
