CREO Parametric:

Introduction:
 CAD software used for creating 3d models(Product or parts)
 Developed by PTC(Parametric Technology Corporation)
History:
 First released in 2011
 Latest version: Creo Parametric 3.0
Syllabus:
 80 Hrs and includes
o Solid Modeling: Creating solid parts.ie. Will have definite
volume
o Surface Modeling: For generating surfaces which can
thereby utilized to generate complex part geometry
o Sheet metal Design: For creating sheet metal components
o Assembly: For creating a product by assembling parts/sub
assemblies
o Drawing: For generating final drawings for manufacturing.
Features & Work Flow:
 Is a fully parametric software. Which means entities, features
etc... are created by inter relating themselves, so that design
modifications can be done easily without losing our design intent.
 Modeling is based on feature based approach. Which means part
will be created using multiple features.
 Can specify relations between dimensions of features, so that
editing one will change other dimensions too.
 Can create dynamic parts.ie. We can specify new dimensions for
a part while assembling them.
 Better assembly management.ie. We can change appearances of
parts, create sectional views, hide components if required & can
create exploded views
 Easy generation of reports including mass information, Bill of
material (BOM) etc..
 In Drawing, we can create drawing views or generate drawing
views from already saved part/assembly file. Also we can
generate BOM and its balloon easily.
 Because of bidirectional property, whenever a part is edited, the
changes will be updated in its associated assembly and drawing
file.
Opportunities & Customers:
 More than 2 lakh companies use Creo as their design tool
 Indian customers includes TVS, Mahindra, TCS, Ashok Leyland,
ISRO & global customers includes Airbus, Boeing, Harley
Davidson, Audi, Caterpillar, Rolex....
