PREFACE
The present report is the outcome of the internship
program at NATIONAL FERTILIZERS LIMITED ZONAL
MARKETING OFFICE. The objective of the internship was
to get familiarize with the workings of the NFL. The
practical knowledge is far different from the bookish
knowledge that we achieve in an institution.

The major problem that I faced was the lack of time by the
employees due to tight working schedules. Due to lack of
time it was not possible to include all aspects of the NFL
as it has multiple sections progressing and heading
different works. The report focuses on a few of the
important sections that I feel important to mention that in
some cases, some practices are not accepted
theoretically.

Though I’ve tried my best to keep the report free from

errors, I apologize if any error is found which was not
deliberately made.

1.2 FINANCE
(Mr. Yashpal Rana)

Agricultural finance is the provision of multiple types of

services dedicated to supporting both on-farm and off-
farm agricultural activities and businesses including input
provision, production, and distribution, wholesale,
processing and marketing.

 Global demand for fertilizers and agrochemicals

remains healthy and growing, as population rises,
chemical prices remain stable and agri-businesses
continue to seek to maximise yields from their
holdings.
 Financial statements are formal records of the
financial activities and position of a business, person
or other entity.
 Relevant financial information is presented in a
structured manner and in a form which easy to
understand.

The financial statements are used by investors, market

analysts, and creditors to evaluate a company’s financial
health and earnings potential.
The three major financial statement reports are:
 Balance sheet
 Income statement
 Statement of cash flows

Using Financial Statement

 Investors and financial analysts rely on financial data

to analyse the performance of a company and make
predictions about its future direction of the
company’s stock price.
 One of the most important resources of reliable and
audited financial data is the ANNUAL REPORT, which
contains the firm’s financial statement.
 The balance sheet provides an overview of assets,
liabilities, and stockholders’ equity as a snapshot in
time.
 The income statement primarily focuses on a
company’s revenues and expenses during a
particular period
 The cash flow statement measures how well a
company generates cash to pay its debt obligations,
fund its operating expenses, and fund investment.

FEEDBACK

The whole course has been a great learning experience along

side other interns. We’ve altogether with time and patience
completed the tenure of a month. The managers, the employees
and other staff members were very kind and keen to share their
utmost knowledge with us and make our journey worth spending
our summer holidays. Each day had a new topic discussion and
was truly inspiring. The practical knowledge made the content
easily understandable.

 There are too many good points to list. The course was very
relevant and will help me in most aspects of my work.

 Objectives were clearly stated from the start.

 A good mixture of theoretical and practical training.
