CLINICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY
SIX SEMESTER ASSOCIATE IN APPLIED SCIENCE DEGREE
The Clinical Laboratory Technology Associate of Applied Science Degree program prepares graduates to perform clinical laboratory
procedures under the supervision of qualified pathologist and/or clinical laboratory scientist. Procedures involve didactic and laboratory
training in the disciplines of urinalysis, phlebotomy, serology, hematology, coagulation, microbiology, clinical chemistry, and blood
banking. Students are then assigned to six months of training in these same disciplines under the medical direction of cooperating medical
facilities.

[Receiving a Clinical Laboratory Technology degree is NOT contingent upon passing an external certification or licensure examination.]
Admissions requirements: Age 17 or older with a high school diploma or GED. Entrance into the Clinical Laboratory Technology program
is based on competitive admission criteria. Contact the program advisor for details.

The Clinical Laboratory Technology program is accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS),
5600 N. River Road, Suite 720, Rosemont IL 60018, (773) 714- 8880, www.naacls.org.

PREREQUISITE COURSES (TWO SEMESTERS)

Pre and Corequisites may be started at any time and is suggested they be complete prior to beginning the CLT program classes. These
classes are offered at different times for the convenience of the student. Admission into the CLT program courses are not required to
begin taking prerequisite classes. General Studies classes must be with a “C” or better. Chemistry and Biology classes must be with a “C”
or better and 10 years old.
