Pooling of usage across a Fleet (SCAPs):

Where the number of vessels activated on the same large allowance monthly subscription plan is 5 or higher for one fleet the allowance for the vessels will be shared across the entire fleet.
If in a given month the number of vessels activated on the same large allowance plan falls below 5 vessels then the pooling of traffic will cease.
Volume SCAP plans (data only) include an allowance of Standard IP only. All other services will be invoiced on top of the monthly subscription fee.

A weekly charge of 14 units will be deducted from the subscribers account balance. Any remaining balance will then be available for usage.
If a subscriber's account balance falls to zero the balance can then be topped up and a weekly charge of 14 units will be taken immediately followed by a weekly charge when next due on the daily billing cycle.
In the event that there is a zero balance, the SIM will not be able to use any services, except for a freephone call to top-up the account balance.
Effective September 2012 Inmarsat announced that the restriction on prepaid services in the United States has been lifted and the service can now be used globally

General Guidelines and Principles

Please refer to the "Inmarsat FleetBroadband Pricing Terms & Conditions" for a complete set of rules. The notes included in this document provide an overview only and do not overrule the T&C document:
1) Activation charges are waived until further notice.

2) The date of activation counts as the start of the contract (example a 24 month package activated on 12 April 2012 ends at 11 April 2014)
3) All activations automatically renew at the end of the minimum contract period.
4) Allowances and subscription charges will be pro-rated on a new subscriptions based on the date of activation. Deactivations will also be pro-rated.
5) Early Termination Fees:
All Packages have a minimum contract term. Early termination fees apply in case a package is deactivated prior to completion of the minimum contract term. The ETF is equal to the remainder of the outstanding subscription fees based on the day of
deactivation/termination, with the exception of the Unlimited Plan and FB Link Plan (see below):
- The Unlimited plan has a contract term of 2 years and early termination fees will apply. The penalty fee is the remainder of the outstanding subscription fees or 6 months of the subscription fees, whichever is less.
- The FB Link plan does not offer early termination on its 6 month committment term.
6) Package upgrades/downgrades become effective immediately. Fees and allowances of the old and new packages will be pro-rated based on the date of activation.
7) Terms and conditions related to the "Airtime and Equipment Bundles" are referenced in the "FleetBroadband Pricing Rules Document" and registration forms.
8) In order to offer FB Link a FB request in SFDC is required to be completed. A customer must meet the below requirements in order for the request to be approved by the VP of Sales:
The market sector must be comprised of offshore (including specialist vessels) satellite communications systems that support energy and natural resources (mining) exploration, development, and production, well monitoring, pipeline monitoring, and refining.
For example:
- Oil & Gas companies
- Drilling companies
- O&G Service companies
- Companies that only operate specialist vessels (FPSO, Seismic Survey Vessel, Pipe laying, Accommodation Barges (those linked to platforms and drilling rigs), etc.)
All other vessels categorized as maritime unless a portion of customer fleet consists of specialist vessels or an energy customer charters the vessel and adds services.
