Some good advice here Dr. A. Thanks.

Here'd be some of my nutritional tips as someone who's personally dealt with candida for almost
8 years...

1. Drink plenty of unpolluted spring water (at least 1/2 your weight in ounces every day). Evamor
is my current favorite. Can use in form of hot tea, room temp water or lightly chilled
(wouldn't recommend very cold)

2. Take supplements to combat candida and parasites and restore/improve digestive system
functioning
i. intestinal support w/ high dose probiotic 50-100+ billion CFU (either Renew Life or GOL's
Doctor's Formulated)
ii. intestinal support w/ aloe vera juice very lightly sweetened w/ organic orange juice
iii. intestinal support w/ magnesium citrate (product called Natural Calm)
iv. liver support w/ curcumin, an extract of turmeric (try Solaray's product)
v. liver support w/ silymarin, an extract of milk thistle (try Whole Food's product)
vi. kidney support w/ lemon juice (organic versions available)
vii. anti parasite and anti candida supplements (favorites include black walnut, cloves, garlic and
oregano oil)

3. With diet, eliminate wheat, baker's yeast (found in most leavened grain products), soy
products, most dairy (with exception of butter and quality goat's milk), cane sugar (in all it's
forms), refined sweeteners, artificial sweeteners and most alcohol (only exception would be
small amounts of biodynamic wine).

4. With diet, here's what I'd include:

LOW CAL ITEMS: unrefined salt (candida hates salt), all broths especially bone broth, steamed low
calorie veggies (greens, broc, cauliflower, brussels, onions, garlic, etc)

HIGH PROTEIN ITEMS: clean animal proteins (eggs, wild caught fish (esp salmon), poultry and
small amounts of red meat),

HIGH FAT ITEMS: coconut oil, butter, olive oil, sunflower oil, fish oil, avocado, coconut milk; go
easy with nuts
HIGH SIMPLE CARB ITEMS: go easy w/ these- honey, all fruits but no dried fruits, steamed beets &
carrots

HIGH COMP CARB ITEMS: go VERY easy with these; best are steamed starchy veggies like sweet
potato & squashes; peas are also good; careful with beans and grains (gluten free only if you
do- brown rice, quinoa, gf oats)

And I'd agree w/ Dr. Axe in saying that a good low calorie soup with salt & spices and maybe a
little chicken & healthy fat is a great anti candida meal. I wouldn't be too afraid of utilizing
green smoothies as well but I'm no expert in Chinese medicine and the effects cold foods
have on the g.i. system. But from experience I do tend to do better with hot/warm meals.

And try not to overeat. It stresses the digestive system. 3-5 smaller meals properly spaced out on
most days is usually a good approach.
