ROLES OF CIVIL ENGINEERING IN NATION BULDING

~ The civil engineer is responsible for the planning, design, construction and maintenance of
various civil engineering works. They also responsible for constructing highways, bridges,
buildings, tunnels and etc. The civil engineer is responsible for analysing the various factors
involved in the construction project. They analyse the building site and the surrounding
region. The process involves searching and investigating whether this location is feasible for
construction purposes or not. Civil engineers are also analysing the entire construction work
that needs to be completed on site. Once the situation has been correctly analysed,
comprehensive reports need to be prepared. The study includes a comprehensive overview of
the multiple variables current, as well as the variables that need to be altered before the start
of building job. Once the proposed changes have been implemented, it is up to the civil
engineer to re-examine the plans and the site of the project. This is to guarantee that there
have been all the suggested modifications.

Fig.1 Civil Engineer

As seen in the figure 1, this is one of the roles that civil engineering does, constructing
a building. As you can see, they predict what it look likes or they thinking of what they need
to add.
They are also responsible for the planning of the construction project. Civil engineer is
required to inspect the project in order to ensure that all legislation, regulations and
guidelines are properly complied with. The civil engineer must follow the construction
project from start to finish and make the necessary changes along the road to completion.
They are responsible for checking whether or not the safety features of the project are
maintained and for ensuring that all processes are followed. Civil engineers can either play a
consultant's role in advising and designing a project or a contractor's role in carrying out
construction job. This would include planning customer requirements, designing projects and
drawing up plans using computerized design, carrying out feasibility studies, assessing
environmental hazards and effects, and preparing tenders.

Fig. 2 Planning

As seen in the figure 2, this is the blueprint that civil engineers must do. They plan it
on how they gonna start and on how many materials do they need. They need to follow every
details, to avoid accidents or tragedy. They also need to check if all processes are followed.
The civil engineer also needs to use different figures, equations and applications to ensure
that the processes are carried out precisely. They need to perform a number of functions, such
as conducting chemical tests using various applications, developing and designing software
throughout the project, and conducting electrical testing of devices and equipment. Civil
engineers prepare permit documents for work on projects in renewable energy. They verify
that the projects will comply with federal, state, and local requirements. These engineers
conduct structural analyses for large-scale photovoltaic, or solar energy, projects. They also
evaluate the ability of solar array support structures and buildings to tolerate stresses from
wind, seismic activity, and other sources. For large-scale wind projects, civil engineers often
prepare roadbeds to handle large trucks that haul in the turbines.

Fig. 3 Projects in Renewable Energy

As seen in the figure 3, these are the sources that no need electricity. This is one of the
projects that civil engineers do.
Civil engineers also does, consider building expenses, public laws, potential environmental
hazards and other variables during the planning and risk analysis phases of the project.
Compile and send permit requests to local, state and federal organizations, verifying that
projects comply with multiple laws. Oversee and evaluate soil test outcomes to determine the
adequacy and strength of the foundations. Conduct or supervise surveying activities to create
building sites, site layouts, reference points, grades and elevations to guide construction.

Fig. 4 Surveying

As seen in the figure 4, civil engineers checking the site by using a tool that looks like a
camera, but it called auto level.
