India Lost and Found is a creative common platform that attempts to rebrand India’s lesser known
historic sites. The idea centres upon bringing together a community of like-minded individuals and
institutions to create a ‘virtual museum of thought’; done by fusing the tangible with the intangible to
create cultural insights and awareness around these monumental yet neglected relics. Since the youth
have to inherit this legacy, they play a vital role in this initiative.

We are looking towards initiating an Inter-College Research Paper Presentation Competition titled
#IndiaFound: Delhi through a Sitelens starting this September as an inter-college annual event.
Participants in this competition will be required to research their allocated site extensively and to bring
out the lives of the people and dynasties of that era in question. Their objective will be to recreate and
redefine the site in a cultural context going beyond the mere visuals and standard information, and focus
more on broadening horizons by interpreting the era in terms of society, culture, architecture, art and
crafts, cuisine, fashion, and the likes. The flow of the competition will be as follows:

1. The competition is open only for Undergraduate and Post-graduate students of all departments.
M.Phil, PhD or any other higher degree holders will not be allowed to participate.

2. Groups of 3-5 students and a maximum of two groups per college are eligible and can register on a
first come, first serve basis.

3. Participants will be allotted historic sites through a lottery and will be given 3 weeks for discovery,
photography and interpretation starting 1st September.

4. The actual competition will be in two rounds - Preliminary and Final round. The tentative dates of
these are 21st September and 28th September and both rounds will be held at the UNESCO
Auditorium in New Delhi. All final round colleges will be encouraged to send their respective
teacher representative along with their participating teams.

5. Teams qualifying for the Final Round will get an additional week to enrich their presentation and
will be guided by directions from the judging panel of the preliminary round.

6. The Final presentation will be 15 minutes long.

7. The winning team will receive the #IndiaFound Trophy and all participants will receive certificates.

8. The Judges for both rounds of the competition will be India Lost and Found Experts and may
include William Dalrymple, Ratish Nanda, Swapna Liddle and J. J. Valaya (yet to be decided).

9. The winning team will be inducted into the ILF campaign as Experts and will get a chance to intern
with ILF.

We hope to gauge your interest in this competition and will be looking towards receiving your expression
of interest within 7 days. The rules & regulations along with registration will follow post your response.
