STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

INTRODUCTION & FAMILY BACKGOUND

My name is Amit Mittal. My date of birth is 27 April 1993. My passport number is T1320267. I
belong to Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan. My residential address is 122 Bank Colony, Near Chahal
Chowk, Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, India. As I want to study overseas, my family supports me
very much in this decision. My family motivates me in every single decision of my life and my
career.

Altogether I have three family members in my family including me. My father; Late Shankar
Mittal Passed away few years back. My mother’s name is Neelam and she is a Housewife. I have
an elder brother named Vikram Mittal and He is working in Aavast Finance Ltd. (Part of AU
Bank) as a Credit Manager. My Mother and elder brother has always supported me in my
decisions and has appreciated my decision of going abroad for higher studies and I feel very
lucky and blessed that I have such wonderful family.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

I have completed my Secondary education in 2008 from Board of Secondary Education,

Rajasthan and I scored 54.83% in my Secondary Examination. After this I completed my Senior
Secondary Education in 2010 in Non-Medical from Seth GLB SD SR SS, Sri Ganganagar (Board of
Secondary Education, Rajasthan) and I scored 71.85% overall percentage. After clearing my
Senior Secondary Examination, I started taking IELTS classes and prepared for my IELTS exam, I
gave my exam on 29 September 2018, and my IELTS result was declared on 11 October 2018
and got an overall band score of 6.5 in my IELTS Exam. Then I searched about some famous
universities for my course and after proper analysis and comparison finally I have selected
Anglia Ruskin University and I have selected the course M.Sc Computer Science.

WHY I CHOOSE TO GO OVERSEAS FOR STUDIES

After completing my Bachelor I decided to go abroad for my higher education as in my country

mainly the focus is on theory rather than practical. However, in abroad practical knowledge is
given, so I want to go to abroad. So after searching a lot I decided to go to Canada and drop my
ongoing degree. There I can get a chance to explore myself and increase my knowledge in the
different fields. Going to another country will make me self-dependent and more confident
which pays a lot in today’s society and it will increase the opportunities of job for me.
WHY I OPTED FOR OTHER COUNTRY OVER MY HOME COUNTRY

After some research, I found many significant reasons of studying abroad. Some of them are:

 Many colleges and universities have international rankings in comparison to my home

country.
 I can attain international experience by studying overseas which I cannot get in India.
 By studying abroad, it will help me in boosting my confidence and overall personality.
 The institutions in abroad give more focus on practical approach instead of theoretical
one. There are more practical assignments and less classroom trainings.
 I will get to know the culture of many other countries as there are international students
there from around the globe.

WHY I CHOOSE UNITED KINGDOM FOR STUDIES

UK is the most-preferred destination in terms of education amongst international students

because of its academic reputation and the cultural diversity it possesses. UK qualifications are
recognized worldwide by employers and leading educational institutions. The living standard is
comparatively higher than the other nations. Moreover, living expenses and tuition costs are
considerably lower. Students can work while they study, making it feasible to gain work
experience and to manage their expenses during the stay. UK is at the forefront of new
technology and innovations making it beneficial for the students to take advantage of the
impressive technology and research resources. UK provides a safe and cordial atmosphere apt
for students to learn and travel. London is the capital and most popular city of UK. It has been
named as the world’s most livable city as well as the QS World University Rankings listed
London as one of the leading student city. Moreover, tourist attractions there are worth visit

recognized UK education allows me to open my wings to explore the world with confidence to
fulfill my career goals. The choice to work in UK for a period of 2 years after finishing study,
offers me the chance to practice what has been learnt. The entire purpose of exposing oneself
to a multinational environment would have been rendered null and void if the opportunity to
implement the learning by working in such an environment was not there.

WHY I CHOOSE ANGLIA RUSKIN UNIVERSITY

Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) is a public university in East Anglia, United Kingdom. It has
39,400 students worldwide and has campuses in Cambridge, Chelmsford, Peterborough and
London. It also shares campuses with the College of West Anglia in King's Lynn, Wisbech and
Cambridge. Anglia Ruskin has a range of different courses available and also welcomes study
abroad students, along with a study abroad program. It has its origins in the Cambridge School

WHY I CHOOSE MSc COMPUTER SCIENCE

I chose this course because this will improve my computer science expertise by developing
industry-level skills to design, develop and implement web solutions for clients worldwide. I will
specialize in cloud infrastructure in modern data centers, web application programming and IT
security in business. I will choose to take an optional 12-week work placement as part of my
course, and develop key employability skills. I will gain practical experience in university’s
advanced computing laboratories, setting up infrastructure and creating database applications,
multimedia tools, browsers and server architecture.

This course will keep me up-to-date with latest topics and developments in areas such as web
applications and e-business engineering. Along the way I will acquire the research skills I need
to prepare myself for my dissertation. From here, I will be able to successfully apply my
knowledge to the development of any other type of software application (being it mobile,
cloud, standalone).

By the end of the course, I will have experience covering the full life cycle of a web application,
specifically:

 Developing the front end and back end of a web app whilst securely storing the data in
relational databases
 Using ontologies as an alternative to the databases to store information and query it
 Recognizing the vulnerabilities and learning techniques to build secure systems
 Being confident in knowing the infrastructure required to deploy web applications
successfully.
FUTURE PLANS

Talking about my future plan after completion of this course I will come back to my home
country; India with practical skills and International exposure. I will search jobs on various sites
like Linkedin.com, Naukri.com, Monster.com, Dice.com, Career Builder.com etc. I can do a job
in various companies. In these companies I can move into management/project delivery roles
including; Software Developer/Engineer, IT Consultant/Project Manager, IT Support Manager,
Technical Consultant, Security Engineer, Front End Web Developer, Microsoft Solutions
Architect and Application Developer. & so forth for getting an experience. Initially I can get 5 - 6
lacs annually as a fresher & this amount will increase as per increase in my experience
accordingly. After getting some experience. By studying this course from Angela Ruskin
University & by doing a job in India I will become a skilled person in Computer field. My home
Country (India) is a fast developing country therefore there is a huge scope of doing own
business in India. I can use my professional skills to work in general management and
operations, or become a leader in my chosen field. My family is a well settled in India & they
are supporting me for my future plans. So I must continue to improve my knowledge and
experience in analysis, teamwork, communication, and organization. I feel strongly that this
program is ideal for developing the skills related to computer science. I will come back to India
because my family is in India and I am very close to them and culture of my country as well. In
addition, I want to be productive for my nation and want to do something for my country.

VISA CONDITIONS

 I cannot work more than 40 hours per fortnight when course is in session.
 I must remain enrolled in a registered course and cannot change the course and course
provider for 6 months.
 I have to study full time course and maintain satisfactory attendance in my course.
 I must have Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) for the duration of my course.
 I am aware about my tuition fees and living expenses and my family will financially
support me during my stay.
 I must meet GS (Genuine Student) Criteria.
 I wish to abide all these conditions
