Educational Philosophy

Without education, where would society be? Individuals would struggle with everyday

tasks such as reading, writing, and basic math skills. Education provides humans with the ability

to have knowledge and grow more intelligent as they grow older. I feel as though education

should be valued more by certain individuals because many don’t understand of what great

importance knowledge falls on the scale of life. Being well educated allows you to receive

certain jobs that others who may lack an education cannot get. It also allows individuals to easily

function in everyday life, such as reading road signs while driving. Teachers sculpt the minds of

students from young ages all the way up until higher education levels. Without teachers, the

education system would struggle tremendously because it would lack its strong foundation.

Every student deserves to obtain a stable education regardless of their location of living. My

philosophy of education is that every student who steps foot in my class room will receive a

thorough education that they deserve, and leave every single day learning something new.

A diverse classroom is an inclusive classroom, and this allows every student to gain new

experiences. All students regardless of their ethnical background deserve to experience equality

in a classroom setting. By having a diverse classroom, it gives me the educational opportunities

to teach using various learning stratagies. Some students may be visual learners while other

students may be kinesthetic learners. An example of a teaching method I plan to use in my future

classroom would be to do science experiments that would be hands-on activities for all of the
students. This gives the students the opportunity to experiment themselves with science, and

learn from the reactions they are testing. Science experiments promote group work in the

classroom as well.

Being a successful educator, to me, means that each child leaves my classroom at the end

of the day feeling proud of themselves for learning new information. Students should want to

attend school and should want to learn, especially at a young age. No child should dread going to

school. They should look forward to seeing their classmates and teacher, as well as being excited

to learn new material. A successful teacher makes learning fun because they have a great method

to teaching their material, and this is my goal as an educator.

Personally, I believe an important duty of a teacher is to protect my students. Their

wellbeing in my classroom is of equal importance to me as them gaining a proper education. No

student should feel in danger or uncomfortable to be in my classroom, and bullying of any type

will not be tolerated. All of the students should feel as though we are a team in the classroom.

Peers should look to help one another if someone is struggling, and this is something that I will

encourage students to do. I will strive to show my students that I am calm and accepting, and that

they should feel comfortable to approach me for any reason.

In conclusion, it is a sincere goal of mine to become a teacher that my students will never

forget. I want to make learning as fun as possible by including numerous activities into daily

lesson plans to keep the interest of my students. Each student should have a fair and equal

education given to them, and all students should be given a great opportunity to excel to their

highest educational abilities. As a teacher, I hope my students leave the school year with new

knowledge that they can use for the rest of their lives.
