CHAPTER 3

Methodology

This chapter describes briefly the methodology that was employed in the conduct of the study.

This includes the research design, population, sample and sampling technique.

Method of Research

This Method is designed to determine what was the influence of the vocational education on

TVL students in University of the East – Caloocan. The principal aim in employing this method is

to present what are the factors of learning vocational education on TVL students.

The researcher used the type of descriptive method which is classified as questionnaire. The

date gathered were composed of varied opinion of the respondents; therefore, the identification

was based on respondents’ perception and self-evaluation.

Population, Sample Size, and Sampling Technique

The researchers conducted the study in the Basic Education department, University of the

East – Caloocan campus for academic year 2019-2020. This includes Grade 12 students taking

TVL strands that includes HE1, HE2, TICT2, and TICT 3, with 6 sections and each section has

45 students; therefore, the population of the students is 270. The researchers used Slovin’s

formula to came up with the sample size


Description of Respondents

The respondents of our study were grade 12 students whose 16 to 19 years old and enrolled

at HE and ICT strand in the Basic Education Department of the University of the East – Caloocan

campus for the academic year 2019 – 2020.

Research Instrument

The researcher anchored the questionnaire on the expected students’ outcomes by the

research entitled, The Influence of Vocational Education on TVL Students in University of the East

Caloocan. The questionnaire consists of questions on how the respondents will evaluate

themselves on what they can learn about Vocational Education and what they can get when they

take Vocational Education. There are 11 questions that is directly related to the influence of

Vocational Education.

The survey questionnaire with the type of questions that would help gather the needed

data to meet the objectives set in this research study. The rating score with mean scores and

description used measuring the following were shown below:

Data Gathering Procedure

Information gathering for this investigation was utilizing overview polls. The specialist gave the

review poll and the respondents have offered sufficient opportunity to response the overview
survey the addressed review surveys were gathered, at the point the analyst ensured that all

things were replied by the respondents. The information were counted, classified, broke down,

and translated, and the outcomes turned into the bases for the finish of the investigation.
