1. Still Searching (Fotomuseum Winterhur)

With reflections on photographic theory and science, this blog sees a calendar
of guest bloggers writing a series of posts on what they feel to be the most
pertinent themes in thinking around photography (they call it an 'online
discourse'). Writers include Geoffrey Batchen, Walead Beshty, David
Campany, Hilde Van Gelder, Martin Jaeggi and Kelley Wilder.

2. 1000 Words Magazine

This online magazine, which also runs masterclasses with notable
photographers, has developed a wide and international following. They
recently received EU funding to undertake a mentorship programme for a
number of international emerging photographers. The mag includes essays,
reviews and interviews.

3. American Suburb X
Started in 2008, AMERICAN SUBURB X / ASX is an ever-growing archive
and fiercely edited look at photography’s always relevant past, rapidly shifting
present and dramatically unfolding future. The mission is to provide and
provoke, to educate and titillate those who are obsessed with photography,
visual culture and all of the beautiful moving parts. We believe that by bringing
together the intellectual and the visual in a powerful dance, ASX will foster
new generations of artists, scholars, collectors, and patrons.

4. Photomonitor
An online magazine that focuses on artists using lens-based media in the UK
and Ireland. We help to promote engaging thought on artists’ work to our
readers in more than 120 countries around the world. Our exhibition and book
reviews, gallery listings, interviews, essays and online exhibitions are
accessible by all, for free.
5. Wandering Bears Collective
A blog and creative organisation dedicated to photography. They took part in
the Brighton Photo Biennial and feature the work of many interesting
photographers/photographic artists.
6. Either/And
Either/And has been devised as a framework within which to debate and
share perspectives, using issues and questions posed by the National Media
Museum and its partners as the catalyst for discussion and exchange relating
to media. A series of commissioned essays, interviews, images and films will
be published on the site to serve as the catalyst for online public discussion.

7. Conscientous
Conscientious is a website dedicated to contemporary fine-art photography. It
offers daily profiles of photographers, in-depth interviews, exhibition and book
reviews, and general articles about photography and related issues.

8. Various Small Fires

The content of the site relates to photography, with a special focus on
photographic strategies in visual art, from the early period after the invention
of the medium, up to the present. It comprises essays and interviews.For
the ‘One Photograph’ series, artists, writers and photographers are asked to
write about one photographic image from any source. However, a strict
formula is followed: the personal engagement with an image must serve as a
platform to identify or propose alternative or unrecognised functions and roles
for ‘the photograph’.

9. Super Massive Black Hole

Established in 2009, SuperMassiveBlackHole is dedicated to contemporary
photography and the photographic imagery resulting from the time-based
processes found in many interdisciplinary art practices today. It is available to
download for free as a PDF three times a year.

10. eyecurious
eyecurious is a blog written by Marc Feustel about photography and all things
related. My background is in Japanese photography, but eyecurious travels to
as many photographic territories as possible through exhibition and book
reviews, photographer interviews, random thoughts and a few experiments.

Lensculture features essays, slideshows, audio and visual interviews and

incisive criticism, making it one of the most authoritative and wide-ranging
sites.

1000 Words Photography is the online blog of the magazine of the same
name, edited by Tim Clark. It focuses almost exclusively on cutting-edge
contemporary photography, as well as running regular workshops with name
photographers.

Conscientious Contemporary fine art photography discussed and dissected by

Jörg Colberg, writer and critic. For longer articles and interviews by Colberg
and various guest writers, check out his Conscientious Extended website.
Foam is the online site for Amsterdam's Foam magazine and art gallery,
which specialises in contemporary art photography.

British Journal of Photography Under the editorship of Simon Bainbridge, the

BJP has been transformed into a forum for information, debate and critical
writing, as well as the place for in-depth advice on cameras, lenses and digital
technology.

Daylight Documentary and conceptual photography are explored on this non-

profit making organisation's website. Daylight also publishes photobooks.

Source Photographic Review This Belfast-based magazine features news,

reviews and columns on contemporary photography, as well as a regular
column exploring photography in advertising.

Photoworks commissions photography, publishes a magazine, and organises

the Brighton Photo Biennial.
