EXPERIENCE
COLLEGE OF NURSING CLINICAL HOURS | 2017 – PRESENT (ONGOING)
· Role consisted of obtaining clinical hours and 1 hour of group discussion at Holston Valley Medical Center and Bristol
Regional Medical Center for completion of the fourth semester of nursing school. Skills involved documentation and
report of patients, assisting nurses in giving care, and learning first-hand about pediatric, OB/GYN, and adult care.
· Role consisted of obtaining 9 hands-on and 1 hour of group discussion at Holston Valley Medical Center for completing
the third semester of nursing school. Areas visited included the PACU, surgery, a medical-surgical floor, same-day
surgery, and pre-op holding. Skills involved formulating medication, patient, and discharge care plans. The second
clinical rotation, care for mental illness, involved visiting Mountain Home VAMC for four weeks. Role consisted of 8
observation hours and 1 hour of group discussion. Duties involved observing nurses in their roles at the clinic and floor,
and also involved a group project for patients with evidence-based research.
· Role consisted of obtaining 7 hours of hands-on experience and 1 hour of group discussion at Mountain Home VAMC for
completing the second semester of nursing school. Skills involved administering subcutaneous injections and
completing a “head-to-toe” assessment. Duties also involved observing 4 surgical procedures and completing
appropriate paperwork for each clinical day. Experiences involved the formulation of care plans, inserting a Foley
catheter, and administering an IM injection.
· Role consisted of obtaining 5 hands-on hours and 1 hour of group discussion at Lakebridge, a Waters Community for
completing the first semester of nursing school. Skills involved performing a “head-to-toe” assessment with grading
extremity pulses, taking a temperature, obtaining blood pressure readings, listening to both lungs and the heart,
listening to bowel sounds, palpating the stomach, and determining wakefulness, alertness, and orientation of the
patient.

MOUNTAIN STATES HEALTH ALLIANCE VOLUNTEER | 2015 - 2018


· Role consisted of volunteering at Franklin Woods Community Hospital from 2016 – 2018 with an approximate of >20
hours fulfilled. Observed nurses and personnel in the Family Birth Center giving care to patients, conducting tests, and
performing surgical procedures in a strictly hands-off manner. Viewed care involving an infant after birth, received
explanation of infant scoring on the Apgar Test, and was educated on medication effects and contraindications. Was
exposed to charting instruction, patient teaching, and equipment explanation.
· Role consisted of volunteering at Sycamore Shoals Hospital for service from 2015 - 2016 with experience totaling up to
72 hours. Observed staff giving care to patients on the floor, operating the medical kiosks, and performing surgical
procedures. Was able to witness care and gain invaluable knowledge and exposure to clinical practice with this
opportunity.

CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT CLINICAL HOURS | 2015


· Role consisted of being actively involved in clinical skills within my designated scope at Ivy Hall Nursing Home. Was able
to perform duties such as taking vital signs, assisting with toileting, making unoccupied and occupied beds, applying
TED hose, assisting with showers, distributing ice, and assisting staff to lift residents. Aided staff when needed and
gathered supplies and tools when directed. Became familiar with documentation practices, patient interaction, and vital
signs for the course.

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
NURSE INTERN 1 – PRN EMPLOYEE | JOHNSON CITY MEDICAL CENTER | 2018 - PRESENT
· Role consisted of actively participating in an environment of unlicensed and licensed personnel to document, serve, and
assist any patient on the floor. Reported vitals to nurses, practiced documentation, and collaborated with team
members. Assisted with ADLs, CHGs, and maintenance of bedding and gowns, ambulation, feeding assistance, telemetry,
hygiene, and any other possible needs. Experience with day and night shift and working with others. Collaborated with
staff to maintain a successful atmosphere. Was responsible to report adverse events to the staff nurse or LPN.

NURSE INTERN 1 – PRN EMPLOYEE | UNICOI COUNTY LONG-TERM CARE | 2018 - 2018
· Role consisted of actively participating in resident care activities and needs. Duties involved taking vital signs, preparing
meal trays, performing blood glucose measurements, showers when needed, assisting residents with ADLs, retrieving
any needed items, and collaborating with staff members throughout the day. Was held accountable for answering call
lights, documenting meals, output, and rounds. Assisted family members as needed and other interprofessional staff.
Worked alongside visiting students on the floor and assisted with any special resident needs.

COLLEGE OF NURSING TUTOR – TEMPORARY EMPLOYEE | EAST TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY | 2018 - 2018
· Was recommended by previous professor to hold an open Dosage and Calculations tutoring session in the College of
Nursing at ETSU. Duties involved formulating an atmosphere of learning among tutees and being prepared to answer
questions any individual would have. Was held accountable to record attenders and their signature. Was flexible to
tutor comfortably in large groups and one-on-one. Was responsible to turn in documentation in a timely manner.

FEDERAL WORK STUDY TUTOR | EAST TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY | 2016 - 2018
Role consisted of tutoring clients in the Center for Academic Achievement at ETSU. Duties involved actively engaging
students in practicing and reviewing topics of their choice. Was responsible for documentation of each session,
attendance of staff meetings, and collaboration with the front desk and various employees. Experience in leadership and
interpersonal skills required with individuals and groups.
