3. Introduction
The American diabetes asosiation state that regular physical activityis cricital
to the management of blood glucose and overall health for individuals with type 2
diabetes.
A systematic review of yoga studies among adults with T2DM (found 12
RCT encompassing 864 patients). Concluded that while overal results showed a
significant reduction in HbA1c and fasting blood glucase (FBG), there was significant
heterogeneity among studies due to methodological weaknesses. A more recent
review (included 8 RCT with a total of 842 participants) reiterated this same
conclusion.

4. Methods
This study examined the feasability and acceptability of a yoga intervention among
US adults with T2DM. In this pilot RCT, participants were randomly assigned to a 12
week program of aither: iyenfer yoga, standard exercise, walking, statsionary cycling.
Both interventions were delivered in group format in two consecutive cohorts.

5. Results
Overall 44 adverse events (26 yoga, 18 SE) were reported of these (in 5 participants)
were deemed “possible related” (4 yoga participants reported back pain, knee pain,
neck strain, bone spure in heel and pulled muscle: and 1 SE participant reported a foot
injury). All seven event were musculoskeletal injuries anticipated as a result of yoga
or exercise, and all resolved without medical intervention. No serious adverse event
were detected.
6. Discusssion
Result of this study support the feasibility of an iyeanger yoga intervention for
American adults with T2DM. This study also examined the effect of yoga on
psychological and behavioral parameters among adults with T2DM. There was a
signifiant decrease in diabates disstres in improvement in quality of life.

7. Conclusion
This study highlights several benefits of yoga for adults with T2DM. Yoga was found
to be a generally safe and highly feasible intervention. The findings suggest the need
for further research with large samples and multiple sites to prove the efficacy of yoga
as a complementary therapy for diabates managemet.
