MONROE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE MAJOR CRIMES UNIT ARRESTS DAYCARE

OWNER FOR ASSAULT AND ENDANGERING THE WELFARE OF A CHILD
Henrietta, NY (October 9, 2019) – The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit, in partnership
with Child Protective Services (CPS), NYS Office of Child and Family Services (OCFS), and the Monroe
County District Attorney’s Office (MCDA, investigated Shannon Johnson, 37, Rochester and her husband
John Johnson, 40, Rochester, owners of the Kiddie City Daycare, located at 130 Thompson Road Henrietta,
for an incident on August 29, 2019, in which a child suffered physical injuries while in the care of Kiddie City
Daycare.

On October 4, 2019, as a result of the investigation, MCSO investigators arrested Shannon Johnson on two (2)
counts of Assault 2nd (Class D-felony) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Class A-misdemeanor). Ms.
Johnson was arraigned in Henrietta Town Court and remanded to the Monroe County Jail on $5,000 bail. She
has since bailed out.

MCSO deputies also charged John Johnson with Endangering the Welfare (Class A- Misdemeanor) of a child
for an incident that occurred at the daycare on October 4, 2019. He was issued an appearance ticket.

The investigation is ongoing. MCSO, CPS, OCFS and MCDA are trying to determine if there are additional
victims. Anyone with any information is asked to call 911.
