A. The first four verses of John chapter six provide the backdrop for our
scene.

IV. Well, this brings us to the response. There are three responses we read
1. John 6:10-13 – Then Jesus said, "Make the people sit down." Now
there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in
number about five thousand. 11 And Jesus took the loaves, and
and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as

Now about the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking
on the sea, and would have passed them by. 49 And when they
saw Him walking on the sea, they supposed it was a ghost, and

CONCLUSION:
I. As we bring this lesson to a close, I want you to think for a moment about
awesome power.
A. You've seen what Jesus did here, and on three other occasions before
1. Are you like Philip – perhaps filled with pessimism that Jesus can
2. Or could you be like Andrew – realizing that the Lord has the
rowing harder?
4. Or maybe you're like the crowd – trying to force Jesus to fit into
your own narrow concept of how He should care for you on your
terms?
B. This Jesus, who performed all these wonderful examples of His love
and power, is the same Jesus who is asking you to place your trust and
2. For others, Jesus is willing to demonstrate His great love for you in
a. All He asks is that you trust in His love and care for you, and
bring all the needs of your life to Him – to cast all your cares
b. And again, He's asking you to do this His way – quit trying to
row harder, just simply trust in Him to calm the storms of your
life.
