A THESIS SYNOPSIS

PROJECT TITLE: “BANGALORE INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CENTRE”.

(A LIVE PROJECT IN BANGLORE)

INTRODUCTION:

• The Government of Karnataka intends to develop the proposed “BENGALURU


INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CENTRE” (“BICC”) on Public Private Partnership (PPP) basis.
• In this regard, 35.0 (Thirty Five) Acres of strategically located land has been
earmarked for the proposed Project.
• The proposed project is being developed within the “Bengaluru Signature Business
Park” (“BSBP”) developed on about 407 Acres of land situated alongside the northern boundary of
the KEMPEGOWDA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (“KIA”) at Bengaluru.
• The Other Minimum Development Obligation (“OMDO”) of construction of the
following at the Project Site shall be limited to that permissible development of the following, a) 5
Star Category Hotel of minimum 250 rooms (10 Acres) b) Vehicle Parking Spaces – 1200

AIM:
• To design, Bengaluru International Convention Centre (BICC) for 6,000 capacity (35 Acres).

• The Core Minimum Development Obligation (“CMDO”) of construction of the following a. Main
Convention/Plenary Hall of minimum 6000 seater capacity and associated facilities; b. Exhibition
Hall of minimum 6500 Sq. m. and associated facilities; and c. Supporting Meeting Rooms and Food
Court.

• To design a 5 Star Category hotel to of minimum 250 rooms (10 Acres), and

• Parking space to accommodate 1200 vehicles.

PROJECT LOCATION:

OBJECTIVES:
• Development of the BICC comprising the International Convention Centre (ICC) comprising of
a main Convention Hall of minimum 6000 seating capacity, exhibition halls and Food Court (based
on the approved Theme / Concept and design brief thereof) along with other facilities / Project
Components within the BICC and related infrastructure in an integrated manner including 5 Star
Hotels through the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.

• Landscaped forefront, Exhibition Management Centre, Administrative facilities for corporate


office, Trade Show/ Fair Facilities such as Tourist Office, Bank and Money Changing facilities, Travel
Desk, STD/ISD, Press Lounge, VIP Lounges etc.

• Technical facilities such as plant room, electric substation, stores, electric power back-upsystem,
fire hydrant etc.

• Gate complex for stipulating entry and exit, Information booths, Public Convenience, Stationary
Shops and Kiosks.

• Public Address System, First aid with doctor on call facilities.

• Security office and booths for security arrangements.

• Fire safety arrangements, Locker facilities.

SCOPE:

• Main Hall of 3000 seating capacity.

• Mini Convention Halls – 2 Nos each 1500 capacity.

• Supporting meeting rooms with associated facilities.

CONVENTIONAL HALL:
• Exhibition hall of minimum 6500 Sq.m & associated facilities.

• Storage spaces & 300 capacity cafeteria/food court.

EXHIBITION HALL:
• 5 Star category HOTEL of minimum 250 rooms.
