What was the problem being addressed? Why was it considered significant for research? It is the inequities, external debt, and
environmental degradation that is brought by the current pattern of commercial energy-oriented development, particularly focused on fossil fuels and
centralised electricity generation. It was considered significant for research for it has a big potential impact to alleviate the community from inequality, external
debt, and environmental degradation.

What were the objectives set for this study? The main objective of the study is to developed a mathematical model for the
effective utilization of renewable energy resources in a developing country. This matheatical model has 7 objective functions,
namely: Minimization of cost, Maximization of system efficiency, Minimization of use of petroleum products, Maximization of use
of locally available resources, Maximization of employment generation, Minimization of CO2, NOx, and SO2 emissions, and
State the hypothesis. What solution was proposed? That linear programming is not suited for Distributed Energy Programming
analysis. The proposed solution is the utilization of goal programming in the analysis, which is a multiple objective optimization
mechanism.

What have other researchers done that led to the hypothesis? You may use a What was new or different with the research conducted?
cause and effect table to further drive to your point. The researchers had
compared two mechanism in modelling, that of linear programming and goal
programming. They stated that linear programming involves only a single
objective function and its way of dealing with multiple objective is to consider
one objective as the prime objective while the
