1. What is meant by WWW?


World Wide Web (WWW) is the network of networks. It is a network of
online content that is formatted in HTML and accessed via HTTP. World Wide Web was
originally designed in 1991 by Tim Berners Lee. The World Wide Web is most often
referred to simply as “The Web”, is an information system where documents and
other web resources are identified by Uniform Resource Locators (URLs, such
as https://www.example.com/), which may be interlinked by hypertext, and are
accessible over the Internet. The resources of the WWW may be accessed by users by
a software application called a web browser

2. What are the factors affecting classroom communication?

Two way communication: the teacher should not be the only speaker;
learners should get opportunity to participate by asking doubts and clarifications.

Feedback: when a speaker speaks he should get a feedback, either positive or negative,
in a proper way so that the speaker is able to realise how far his message and comments
have reached the listener.

Clarity of expression: to express oneself clearly one should have good language skills.

Attention of the learner: concentration and attention of the learner are essential for
communication to be effective and for this the learner should be motivated and the
presentation should be interesting.

Use of teaching technologies: it helps the teacher to present the information visually in
an attractive manner.

3. Define Educational Technology?

Educational Technology is concerned with the development, application and


evaluation of system techniques and aids to improve the process of human learning.
Educational technology is the use of both physical hardware, software, and educational
theoretic to facilitate learning and improving performance by creating, using, and
managing appropriate technological processes and resources 1
It encompasses several domains including learning theory, computer-based training,
online learning, and where mobile technologies are used, m-learning. Accordingly, there
are several discrete aspects to describing the intellectual and technical development of
educational technology.
4. List the advantages of Educational Technology?

It is concerned with the development, application and evaluation of system


techniques and aids to improve the process of human learning. Following are the
advantages of educational technology.
1. Educational Technology improves the teaching learning process and makes it
more effective and process oriented.
2. It maintains the standard of education.
3. It improves the way of teaching by giving teaching aids and programmed
instructional material etc;
4. Distance education is possible.
5. It relates to language instruction.
6. It is concerned with correspondence education.

5. Explain hardware and software approach of education?

The hardware approach of education technology has its origin in physical


science and engineering and it is based on the concept of service, i.e., using
technology in education while teaching in a big hall. Teacher uses a microphone for
making his teaching effective. The material and utilized for educational purposes in
hardware approach.

The software approach of educational technology is sometimes referred to as


instructional technology, teaching technology or behavioural technology. This type
of technology tries to adopt a process oriented technique for production of suitable
teaching learning material, teaching learning strategies and evaluating techniques.
Educational technology develops and utilized software approach programmed
material and teaching learning strategies based on psychology or learning are
usually known as software and the equipment and gadgets are called hardware.
