to have a good experience and for you to enjoy what we do on your
ward.
We are very aware that our programme can never follow a one-size-fits-all approach.
We often make small changes to activities as we go along to make sure they address
interest and expectation. A conversational approach helps us to learn about individual
interests and skills as the chat develops around the table. As a result, changes often take
place within the timescale of a series of workshops. Whatever the outcome, we always
use the learning from events and workshops to refine and improve what we do in the
longer term.
We are getting more direct requests from wards to work with them so it's clear that the
brochure is working well in informing the wider hospital community about the things we

These workshops are a direct result of our collaboration with Frances Aitken. We
will follow up on Frances's training workshops with a series of making workshops
to build on the benefits of the training and encourage ongoing activities on the
wards. The workshops will encourage staff to build an understanding of the
benefits of using arts activities in bringing people together to share ideas and gain
confidence in delivering activities themselves.

Prospect Bank
Prospect Bank
Introduction
Supper Club is now well established as a series of evening entertainment events
developed by Prospect Bank staff and Miss Annabel Sings. Where possible we
try to bring normal, everyday experiences into the hospital or specialist unit
environment so that patients or residents continue to experience some of the things
they enjoyed before they became residents. With Supper Club we want to create
the experience of a night out at home, something a bit different to look forward
to in the week, using performers whose repertoire might evoke memories and
encourage conversation. And something where relatives can join in and enjoy an
evening of entertainment with their loved ones. This is a chance for staff, families
and patients to dress up and share a common experience. We know that we are
inherently social creatures; well most of us anyway! It is also argued that sharing
an experience can heighten the pleasure of that experience. So, the well-being
effect of sharing an evening of song or music lasts well beyond the experience
itself.
We are now back for our second winter season, and Prospect Bank staff will be
welcoming musicians into their cosy living room to entertain the residents. We are
excited to invite back some firm favourites as well as new performers from the
summer season. Gill, a brilliant PB member of staff who often supports Supper
Club said she has seen some exceptional reactions from residents and highlights it
as a very special and important time within the Prospect Bank week.
Scott Heywood is Elvis!
All events take place in the living room and are supported by staff. We are always
looking for local community groups and individuals to come into Prospect Bank
and volunteer so if you think you have a skillset that would enrich the residents'
day or fancy helping out in the gardens than please do get in touch with Miss
Annabel Sings.
