Abstract

This study focuses on making a connection for all the artist or aspiring artist

who would like to share their artwork and to learn about this web site is also open for a user

who would like to buy some art piece like painting, sketches. Also, it gives the opportunity

to all artists to find their ideal client.

The proposed system is to build using native PHP and a back-end database

using MySQL. The good thing about the system is that it doesn’t need any high-end hardware.

Even 1 terabyte hard drive which most laptop nowadays have is good enough for the database.

But if this started to grow bigger, it might need a higher hard drive. But for the meantime, as

long as you have the minimum requirements, this site can run right away.

As an artist, it will help us to improve our work and showcase it as well to the clients

who are looking that will help them with their own business as well. It’s like hitting two birds

with one stone. The artist will improve and at the same time, it will become another business

opportunity.

CURRICULUM VITAE

Chapter I

Introduction

1.1. Background of the Study

Nowadays, social media has made an impact on the lifestyle of every individual. It has

already been a huge contribution to the daily routine of the people. As an Artist, social media is

important to me because in social media I can share my artwork, use it to earn money, use it to

showcase my skills and use it to improve as an artist as well.

Some artist like me is having a hard time searching, sharing, and finding the right

references. It consumes a lot of time just finding the good and correct one, and sometimes, the file

that some of the artists will find contains a virus which downloading it will harm the device of the

user.

1.2 Statement of the Problem

Problems artist has very often gone unnoticed and viewed as unimportant, unlike other

professions.

Some artist encounters some problems like, art is not good enough to be noticed, can't sell

their artworks lack of plan for their talent they don’t know how to market to establish business fear

to talk to the customer. The wrong target of the audience, not enough online/social media presence,

social media is very important because, in social media, you can promote your works.

Doing this system will make the pictures disorganized and finding the right reference will

be difficult. As many people use this, it bounds to make it messy and finding what the user is

6
looking for will be harder. In this system, it needs to have a function which will sort everything

that will be uploaded to the site which will make other people finding the right image easier.

Doing this requires the system to have a clear sort function which will make a large number

of pictures to be sorted out in different function. Not just one sort function, but multiple of them.

This will make everything neat and clean for the system and will make other people who are not

tech-savvy use this system without them looking at the manual. We want the system to be user-

friendly which will be hard in planning the design.

1.3 Significance of the Study

This IArtist will help all artist wants to learn to find a reference to find a job and to earn

money. Because most of the artist no longer pay the right amount can’t find a job that suits them

IArist is created to help Arist to grow and to reach other artists, to make a community that will

help each other to grow to give advice.

Also, the IArist can give comfort to all artists to showcase their artworks, everyone will be

given the chance to rise and to be noticed and to earn and support themselves.

1.4 Scope and limitation

This system will be a web-based which will have various filtering function on them which

will make the system easier to use. This system will focus as well in the budget of the hardware

related components that are required on this.

The system proposed will have a different filtering function which can be used for different

needs of the user. There will be a filtering function for the latest uploads of the users from oldest

7
to the newest, categories, different kind of arts and so on. This will help the users as well to

showcase their work to other people, like when they're looking for their clients.

This system will be using PHP as its platform to make sure that there won’t be limitations

to the design that will be used in the system. And last, there will be a sign-in and sign-up function

so the users will have their own profile where they can keep their work. IT will be like a forum

site where they can put comments to the images that will be uploaded and they will be able to put

how many up-votes or likes to the pictures as well.

Design and Platform

2.1 Entity Relationship Diagram

2.2 Data Flow and Design

9
This is the phase wherein the researchers had converted the description of all the requirements

during analysis into logical and then into physical system specifications. In here, the website elements had

been designed together with the content elements and the overall layout of the system. After integrating the

overall design of system elements such as pictures, font, colors, etc., the wireframe of the system that was

followed prior to the system development.

Context Diagram of IArtist

10
The context diagram shows three sources of data within the system: the User(s), Website,

and System Admin. Users provide information as input, the system generates all information and

services as output to the users.

Data Flow Diagram of IArtist

11
This diagram represents the IArtist Application major processes, data flows and data stores. There

are three streams or flows of data. The user information input for registration is being stored in user

account database.

DFD Explosion Online Services of Social Networking Application

12
This diagram shows the decomposition of Online Services. The user can use the services of

Social Networking Application like chat: sending messages in real time upload images and files. The user

can also manage his/ her profile.

DFD Explosion Online System Admin of IArtist

13
This diagram shows the decomposition process in System Admin Maintenance. The

system administrator is responsible to update the user account and services then, acknowledge all

the changes of the user to his/ her own profile or account.

Development

14
In this phase, the systems specifications had been turned into a working system. The

creation of content summary started the system development, it was then followed by the

establishment of content details, creation of detailed content of the system, development of pages

and links, development of functionalities and then the content integration, in which the

community began to function for the reason that interaction features such as registration, media

uploading, posting comments, message exchange, etc., has been build up.

2.3 Application/Language

As for our product, we’re going to use WordPress as the main Management System. This

will use the PHP as the base we will be using the SQL for database. This will let us set up the

plugin easier and will make managing the site easier as well.

Using WordPress is the best Management system that we can use for site as this will let us set up

the forum part easier. As this will be included when people want to put some comments to the

pictures that they will be uploading. Another benefit of this too is that the search engine is a

clean permalink structure. Permalink is a URL that is intended to remain unchanged for many

years into the future making it less to become inaccessible. This will make the site catchier for

people as well making them access it easier.

Aside from this, using WordPress will not let us use HTML or FTP software which will make

the handling good for those who are not that tech savvy. And search engine loves WordPress as

well making them appear more when people are searching for things! And last, as your business

grows with WordPress platform, as sites are very scalable, you can have hundreds of thousands

of pages or blog posts on your site and the performance of the site will not be compromised in

the least.

15
2.5 Technical Term

16
Chapter 3

3.1 Location of the study

This research was conducted at Cainta, Rizal where there is a population of more than

300,000. This survey was conducted at the Floodway area where there are a lot of artists who

failed to make their artwork recognized. Cainta serves too as the secondary gateway to the rest of

Rizal province from Metro Manila. Cainta is also now part of Manila's extended area, which

reaches Cardona in its easternmost part, and is therefore one of the most urbanized towns.

3.2 Method Used

In this the proponents used the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology.

SDLC methodology produces many transitional process that can be examined to see if they meet

the user’s needs and complies with the standards which can be worked on if modifications are to

be made and to certify exactly what the system needs. This methodology has five (5) stages

namely, Requirement Gathering and Analyzing, Designing, Coding, Testing and Implementation

and Maintaining.

17
The first stage is the requirement gathering and analyzing, the developers planned the flow

of the system, schedule the activities, meetings, interviews and gathered information.

In this phase, the developers finalized the concept, designed the interface and presented the overall

structure of the system.

The third or the coding phase, the stage wherein the developers started to code the system.

It has three (3) levels of access namely; Administrator, Adviser and Students.

In the fourth stage, testing is done by transferring the coded system in other unit and then

debugged the found and possible errors. Then after testing the developed system was used for the

evaluation.

chapter. Generally, this chapter aims to cover-up the end result of the IArtist Website.

22
4.1 Summary

The IArtist is made to give Artist their own platform where they can share, communicate

and learn, also it will help them to improve their ability to manage their own business.

The appearance of the page layout, use of color, fonts and images is consistent throughout

the system, the design is appropriate for the purpose of the system and for the intended audience,

the page layout is balanced, clean, and uncluttered.

For the structure and navigation, the content of the system is logically organized, the

navigation is easy to understand and use, the purpose of each page is identified, the users can get

the information with a minimal number of clicks and there is an obvious method of navigating

between different sections of the system.

The content of the system reflect on the system, appropriate for the intended audience,

sufficient to meet the user needs and expectations, the system are readable, and the specific content

can easily be found.

The reliability of the system can validate inputs, the information and messages will be

displayed correctly and appropriate, the user is secured from unauthorized use, and the outputs are

supported be report generation.

4.2 Conclusion

Based on conducted most of the artist is using the internet to find reference, and the ability

of finding work is very low because of lack of knowledge of how they can sell their talent that's

the reason why the website is created to improve every artist to give Artist it own site where they

can relate where they can connect to the other artist.
