I. INTRODUCTION Heneral luna is a action and historical film released on 2015. Directed by Jerrold Tarog. It’s a film that
represent General Antonio Luna's leadership of the Philippine Revolutionary Army during Philippine-
American War. Starring John Arcilla as Gen. Antonio Luna, Mon Confiado as Emilio Aguinaldo, Arron
Villaflor as Joven Hernando, Alex Vincent Medina as Capt. Jose Bernal, Joem Bascon as Col. Paco
Roman, Archie Alemania as Capt. Eduardo Rusca, Epi Quizon as Apolinario Mabini, Nonie Buencamino
as Felipe Buencamino Paulo Avelino as Gen. Gregorio del Pilar, Leo Martinez as Pedro Paterno, Mylene
Dizon as Isabel, and Bing Pimentel as Doña Laureana Luna.
II. PLOT SUMMARY
During the Philippine-American war, Gen. Antonio Luna a short-tempered Filipino. While the
Philippines are a staunch US ally. After losing the Spanish-American War, Spain handed their
Philippine colony over to the United States. Taking control of the Philippines. The Philippines already
had an independence movement and, taking advantage of Spain’s weakness and early implied
American support, they managed to establish a Republic over most of the archipelago before the
Treaty of Paris took effect. As it became apparent that the Americans were going to be new colonial
masters and not liberators, this first Philippine Republic decided to fight back, kicking off a war in
which hundreds of thousands of Filipinos died at America’s hands. Then man who led Philippine forces
into this conflict was General Antonio Luna a brilliant soldier who quickly rose to become chief of the
Republic’s army and as he tries to lead his countrymen against colonial masters new and old, and to
rise above their own angry disputes to fulfill the promise of the Philippine Revolution.
III. DESCRIPTION 1. Writing The film is engaging because the author makes it realistic for it to become
convincing for the viewers. The scenarios are naturally implied to Filipino people’s
characteristic before, one of which was depicted was that they did not mind to use
vulgar words. Moreover, the movie is not depicted too poetic so the generations are
able to relate. The film is also not boring so the viewers are interested to watch it.
2. Cinematography Heneral Luna is a very good scene, you just like to think that it’s a
true happenings, like its looks like pure blood, the shoot of the guns, and their
wounds.
3. Acting In the acting the way they give flavor to the characters is amazing since they
act just like the typical Filipinos. There are lots of lines that is truly remarkable for
Filipinos, like what Luna had said, “Negosyo o kalayaan, Bayan o sarili, Pumili ka!” and
figurative lines like “Nasubukan mo na bang huliin ang hangin?”and. the way the artists
brought their character, and all of the style they used in making such a beautiful movie,
truly caught the attention of the viewers.
4. Production Design Makeup and prosthetics for the film referred extensively to
actual pictures of the historical characters. Also added that the choice to portray
General Mascardo with only a partially formed moustache was symbolic, reflecting
his frustration about being overshadowed by Luna.
5. Sound The sound effects was very good also its brings more extreme to hear the
music. Visual effects, often in an effort to make a scene shot in a modern location fit
seamlessly into the period storytelling of the film.

IV. CONCLUSION/ The movie Heneral Luna was very impressive movie. The way the actors brought their characters and
EVALUATION the beautiful idea of director and other staffs are caught an attention of the audience. The movie has
an unhappy, disappointed ending because Gen. Luna killed by his fellows Filipinos. Instead of Filipino
against Americans, what happened is Filipinos killed the brilliant Gen. Luna and his loyal ally that
fight Filipinos freedom against Americans. The movie is good for peoples who wants to know the
history of Philippine-American War.
