Al-Manhaj: A Journal of Multidisciplinary Research

Al-Manhaj: A Journal of Multidisciplinary research is an annual double blind peer reviewed academic
journal published by Islamic University of Maldives (IUM). Al-Manhaj aims to publish high quality
research that can disseminate and advance knowledge in diverse fields. The journal allows
submission of research articles in any of the following three languages: English, Arabic and Dhivehi
(the local language of Maldives) so as to reach both international and local community. Al-Manhaj
focuses on publishing theoretical, empirical as well as review articles and perspective, commentary
and opinion articles.

Al-Manhaj invites researchers to submit original articles that fits into the categories mentioned above
for the 3rd issue of the journal to be published in September 2019. The journal welcomes
submissions from a variety of academic disciplines including, but not limited to Islamic studies and
social sciences.

Manuscripts may be submitted to crp@ium.edu.mv. All submissions will be put through a double
blind peer review process. Al-Manhaj aims to have all submissions sent out for review within one
month of receipt. Submission to Al-Manhaj implies commitment to publish in the journal. Papers
published previously elsewhere or under review by another journal will not be accepted.

Deadline for submission: 30th April 2019

Manuscripts should be contextualized within relevant theoretical or methodological literatures. They

should also highlight their theoretical or methodological contributions to the field. Empirical pieces
should detail the methods for data collection and analysis. Manuscripts for publication should have
one and half line spacing, with ample margins and should be written in Microsoft word or Rich Text
Format. To enable for anonymization for reviewing, any reference to the author and any
acknowledgements that may indicate the author’s identity in the manuscript must be highlighted. If
there are multiple authors, the author who will check proofs and receive correspondence must be
indicated.

Manuscripts should be between 9000 words and must not exceed 36 pages (or word count
equivalent of 250 words per page of 9000) including tables, figures, notes and references.
Manuscript must include an abstract of 100-150 words. Perspective, Commentary or Opinion articles
should be between 1000-1500 words, will not require an abstract and will not go through review
process. All pages must be numbered and footnotes to the text must be avoided.

Al-Manhaj accepts referencing style conventions of the American Psychological Association (APA)
only.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that nothing in their papers infringes any existing copyright. If
previously copyrighted material is included, authors must provide evidence that the copyright holder
has given permission for its use. The authors are requested to verify the manuscripts before
submission to curtail any future infringement claims.
