Coralville Texas Roadhouse Member of Year
Great
events
don’t
come
together
without
great
partners.
The
Coralville
Texas
Roadhouse
is
consistently
a
great
partner
in
important
community
events.
As
a
result,
the
restaurant
has
been
named
the
2010
Iowa
City/Coralville
Area
Convention
and
Visitors
Bureau
Member
of
the
Year.
“Texas
Roadhouse
has
made
every
effort
possible
to
be
more
than
just
a
great
restaurant
since
the
day
they
arrived
in
our
community.
They
have
repeatedly
demonstrated
their
commitment
by
reinvesting
proceeds
and
resources
back
into
their
community,”
said
CVB
President
Josh
Schamberger.
For
the
past
two
years,
the
Coralville
Texas
Roadhouse
has
supported
two
of
the
CVB's
largest
events—the
golf
tournament
and
FRY
Fest.
Don
Williams,
the
Managing
Partner
for
the
restaurant,
is
an
enthusiastic
advocate
for
the
area,
ensuring
that
the
restaurant
supports
community
events,
fundraisers,
and
festivals
big
or
small.
Recent
events
in
which
the
restaurant
has
played
a
significant
role
include
the
Festival
for
Miracles
in
Amana,
the
Iowa
Valley
Habitat
for
Humanity
and
the
Tippie
Build,
and
Light
the
Night
for
the
Leukemia
&
Lymphoma
Society.
Because
the
restaurant
has
become
known
as
a
generous
supporter
of
a
wide
variety
of
efforts,
the
Texas
Roadhouse
receives
a
large
number
of
donation
requests
each
year.
Not
one
is
ever
turned
away.
As
“Legendary
Store
Marketers,”
Mary
Toenjes
and
Katlin
Zickel
visit
area
schools
to
promote
positive
student
behavior
while
demonstrating
ways
to
show
teacher
appreciation.
This
is
a
fairly
new
focus
for
the
duo,
but
they
have
been
thrilled
to
see
how
excited
teachers
and
students
are
to
be
awarded
free
special
dinners
at
Texas
Roadhouse.
They
also
reach
out
to
schools
to
support
field
trips
and
fundraisers.
Toenjes
and
Zickel
also
visit
area
businesses,
dropping
by
with
delicious
warm
rolls,
peanuts,
and
other
treats
from
the
restaurant.
Toenjes
credits
the
CVB
with
helping
them
build
connections
in
the
community:
“Our
relationship
and
partnership
with
the
CVB
has
helped
us
reach
out
to
more
people
in
the
community
and
to
grow
and
develop
deeper
relationships
with
those
different
people
and
businesses.”
