WORKSHEET NO.

MULTIPLE REGRESSIONS MODEL

VARIABLE r² p-value Decision

AGE 0.03 0.11 REJECT THE NULL HYPOTHESIS
FITNESS INDEX 0.32 5.73 DO NOT REJECT THE NULL HYPOTHESIS
SMOKING
STATUS 0.34 1.26 DO NOT REJECT THE NULL HYPOTHESIS

Base on the table presented it shows a relative correlation of the given variables with each other. On the
age variable, the decision is to reject the null hypothesis, because the p-value of the age is less than the
significant value which is (0.05). So in conclusion the age of the sample is not related with the FVC. On
the fitness index variable the p-value is more than the significant value so the decision is to accept the
null hypothesis. The smoking status is in relation to the fitness index and FVC of the given variable.

FVC 4 A EQUATION
AGE -0.01 bx
SMOKING STATUS -0.1 bx₂ y= 4.0-0.01-0.1+0.35
FITNESS INDEX 0.35 bx₃

The data shows that age is not significantly correlated to FVC because of negatively decrease in the FVC
value by 1%, while smoking status negatively decrease the FVC status of the patients by 10% and Fitness
index positively increase the FVC by 35%.
