Fleet. Dingalan also became one of the sites of RP-US Balikatan Military Exercises in 1982, 1983, and 1984.
Dingalan is one of the eight (8) municipalities and third smallest town of Aurora Province occupying the area of 30,455
hectares. It is situated in the southernmost part of Aurora Province lies 121o23’ longitude and 15o23’ latitude bounded on the
North by the town of San Luis, Aurora, on the West by Province of Nueva Ecija, on the South is the Municipality of General
Nakar, Quezon and on the East by the Pacific Ocean. Generally, the North, West and the South is the Sierra Madre Mountain
Ranges making the municipality an isolated place from the rest of Aurora towns. Baler, the capital town can be reached by

Natural resources abound the place due to majority of its land is forested and situated along the coast. Timber and
forest product from the forest could provide raw materials to almost all kinds of manufacturing products. Although Dingalan
Agricultural Community, out of this total area, only 9% cultivated to agriculture, this is the major source of livelihood of the
people. Coconut and palay are the major crop supplemented by vegetables, corn and root crops. Dingalan bay is a natural
harbor were commercial ships could anchor one kilometer from the shore. The place has 45 kilometers shoreline facing the
Pacific Ocean and ocean life plentifully abounds and if properly tapped could boast the economic condition of the populace.
Seven out of eleven barangays are located along the coast.
Agricultural crops farming is the main source of income of the municipality, with coconut, banana, palay and vegetables/
root crops as the major products. Fishing is the secondary means of livelihood of the people while the forestry business
contributes as a supplementary income of the populace.
Per Finance Department Order No. 97-3 dated May 9, 1997, Dingalan was reclassified as Fourth-Class Municipality on
the basis of its average annual income of P12,414,829.00 actually realized during the last four consecutive Calendar Year

INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT
In 1972, construction of Dingalan-Gabaldon National Road (a part of proposed East – West Road) was started to
replace the logging road which served the linking of Dingalan from the outside. However, this road became passable only on
1978 when the Tanawan Bailey Bridge was constructed. One-kilometer Poblacion-Aplaya was asphalted and the Provincial
Road going to Ibuna and Umiray was improved.
In 1989, major bridge construction is completed, that of Tanawan Concrete Bridge, and Langawan River Concrete
Bridge was open to traffic in September 1992. Road concrete pavement in Barangay Paltic, Ibona, Cabog and Davildavilan
were started in 1989. As of 1990, Barangay concrete pavement has total of 4.15 kilometers while Poblacion streets and
National Highways has .863km and 3.06 respectively.
On 2008, school building of thirteen elementary and primary schools was sufficient, with a total of 122 classrooms being
used by 4,099 pupils with student’s ratio of 1:47. However, some of the buildings were already dilapidated and needs repair
and replacement.
The New Municipal Building was constructed in 1982 while the New Market Building was constructed in 1988 replacing
the Old Talipapa makeshipt market. Old building was damaged by typhoon on 19769. The public market has a total area of
1,125 sq. meters. Barangay Ibona is also maintaining Barangay Market, constructed on 1988 by Countrywide Development
Fund of Congressman Miran.
Ten-(10) Bed Community Hospital became operational on January 1992 serving residents of Dingalan. There are three
(3) Barangay Health Centers and one Rural Health Unit in Barangay Poblacion.
Dingalan tested electricity in July 1982 serving 700 consumers in five barangays under the franchise of Nueva Ecija III
Electric Cooperative, Inc. AURELCO took the operation of electric services for Dingalan on March 1995 serving 10 out of
eleven barangays with 76% household coverage.
National Irrigation Administration (NIA) developed water resources for irrigation facilities profiting 713 hectares
farmlands with 372 farmers.
An International Seaport is constructed in Barangay Aplaya by the Philippines Ports Authority in December 2007 with
initial budget of P61M, while Feeder Port in Barangay Paltic was undertaken by DOTC-PMO with P31.5M Budget. The Feeder
Port was completed in June 2007 and become operational in February 2008.
CREATION OF DINGALAN INTO MUNICIPAL DISTRICT
On June 16, 1956, the Barrio of Dingalan created into Municipal District, Baler, Sub-Province of Aurora, Province of
Quezon. The reason therefore is because Dingalan is very far from the town of Baler. Hence, for effective Local
Administration, its creation as such was effective.
Before its conversion into a barrio, Dingalan used to be a Sitio of San Luis, a barrio of Baler. On June 16, 1962, the
Municipal District of Dingalan was converted into regular municipality thru the enactment of Republic Act No. 3490, said
Republic Act provides:
“AN ACT TO CONCERT THE MUNICIPAL DISTRICT OF DINGALAN, SUBPROVINCE OF AURORA, PROVINCE OF
QUEZON, INTO A MUNICIPALITY”
Be enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled.
Section1. The Municipal District of Dingalan, Sub-Province of Aurora Province of Quezon, is hereby converted into a
municipality.

promontory that encloses a large tidal pool, 20feet deep. The tidal pool is completely sealed from the surrounding sea water
making its water perfectly still even as the waves roar just a few meters behind the promontory.
