ONE-WAY ANOVA

Distribution of ages according to FVC

FVC YOUNG MIDDLE OLD P-VALUE DECISION

2.1-
25 23 11
5.3 DO NOT REJECT THE NULL
0.5
5.4- HYPOTHESIS
12 7 2
8.6

Base on the data presented on the variables on age, there is a significant relationship to the FVC value.
The decision is to accept the null hypothesis. The p-value is greater than the level of significance which is
the 0.05. So no direct relationship between the age and the FVC

Distribution of smoking status according to FVC

NON LIGHT MODERATE HEAVY P-

FVC DECISION
SMOKER SMOKER SMOKER SMOKER VALUE
2.1-
5.3 2 33 20 4
5.4- 0.4 DO NOT REJECT THE
8.6 10 10 1 0 HYPOTHESIS

Based on the result of the smoking status and the FVC , there is no direct relationship between the two
variables. The p-value is less than the significant value which is 0.05 so the decision is to accept the null
hypothesis.

Distribution of fitness index according to FVC

FVC HEALTHY UNHEALTHY P-VALUE DECISION

2.1-5.3 43 16 DO NOT REJECT THE NULL
0.6
5.4-8.6 8 13 HYPOTHESIS

The data shows do not reject the null hypothesis because p-value is greater than the level of significance
(0.05). Therefore the null hypothesis is no mean different to others, we do not have statistically
significant evidence that there is a difference in the mean Fitness index status of the patients compared
with their FVC.
