Is President Obama a Muslim? Is he a Christian?

Is there any way to know for

sure?

Recently, President Obama made statements about his religious beliefs.  Since he
made them public, it is certainly permissible to comment on them.

On the heels of stating, “Islam is not the problem, Al Queda is the problem,”
Obama defines for us, his own particular viewpoint of Christianity.  How does it
stand up to the Christianity of the Bible?  Let’s see…

We know that President Obama spent 20 or so years in a church that is based

largely on Black Liberation Theology (Trinity United Church of Christ, with
Reverend Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr.).

Black liberation theology maintains that African Americans must be liberated

from multiple forms of bondage — social, political, economic and religious. This
formulation views Christian theology as a theology of liberation --

Suffice it to say that to the Black Liberationist, Christianity is a means by which the
Black person frees themselves from the rule of others. For many within Black
America, the perpetrators of bondage are mainly whites.  This is true of the views
of Malcolm X, Minister Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton, among others.

We also know that President Obama stated that converting to Christianity was his
choice.  We must remember that the Christianity he converted to was the one
taught by Reverend Wright.

Wright is also known for his anti-American statements based on racial difficulties
within this country specifically.  Rev. Wright has made some extremely
provocative statements, which certainly smack of racism as well.

Beyond this, his church apparently gave their top award to an avowed anti-
Semite, Louis Farrakhan, from the Nation of Islam.

All of this plays into President Obama’s version of Christianity, and it is from this
perspective that we begin to understand what he means when he says that he is a
Christian.
resident Obama points to Christ’s death as the epitome of humility.  He stated,
“understanding that Jesus Christ dying for my sins spoke to the humility we all
have to have as human beings, that we’re sinful, and we’re flawed, and we make
mistakes, and that we achieve salvation through the grace of God.”

This is certainly all well and good to a point, but it does not say enough or go far
enough.  President Obama is anything but stupid.  He tends too often to speak
like a lawyer because of his legal training.  Combine that with the fact that he is a
politician, and you have him saying things that can be interpreted any number of
ways, just as he did when he ran for office.

During his presidential campaign, we often heard three main things:

 Change is comin’!
 Yes, we can!
 I will not raise taxes!

People ate up what Saddam Hussein Obama stated and literally became carried
away with all the hoopla surrounding these comments, in spite of the fact that
they said nothing.

Obama did not explain what “change is comin’” meant, or “yes, we can!” nor did
he explain how he was going to help the economy without raising taxes.

Once he became the president, we soon began to realize what “change is comin’”
meant. President Obama has made some tremendous changes. Because of these
changes, he has alienated most people who voted for him.

Since his presidency began, he has done quite a number of things that I believe
are fully detrimental to this country:

 Thrown Israel under the bus

 Allowed sanctions to be placed on Israel when no sanctions are placed on
any other nation regarding the peace process
 Defended Islam
 Come out in favor of the Ground Zero mosque
 Sued a state in the United States, and has submitted a report to the U.N.
that alleges human rights abuses by Arizona.  This is unconscionable, yet it
is fact.
 President Obama has failed to protect this nation’s borders from foreign
invasion (Article. IV. Section. 4).  This reads “The United States shall
guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,
and shall protect each of them against Invasion.” Sided with Mexican
president Calderon against the people of the United States
 Passed a healthcare bill that will likely cost trillions of dollars to put into
effect. Where is the money coming from since he has promised not to raise
taxes?
 Has been working behind the scenes to circumvent Congress in order to
grant blanket amnesty to all illegal immigrants in this country
 Continued to blame Bush and the Republicans in spite of the fact that
during Bush years, Congress was a democratic majority and remains such
today
 Denigrated the Tea Party and its advocates, calling them racist and bigoted.
 Moreover, in spite of the 39% overall approval rating of our current
president, he seems to think that his problems are the Republicans and the
Tea Party. In essence, roughly 70% of the American population stand in
opposition to President Obama’s policies, yet he ignores that as if the voice
of the people mean nothing. To him, the voice of the people do actually
mean nothing.
 When two members of the New Black Panther party blocked the entrance
to a voting precinct in Philadelphia – one of the members wielding a large
wooden baton – some voters were too intimidated to enter to vote.
Neither President Obama or Eric Holder of the Justice Department did
anything and in fact, the entire situation has been “erased” from record, in
spite of the video evidence that proves it happened.

My point to listing all of these items is that during his presidential campaign, no
one had any idea that this is what President Obama would do AFTER he became
president. He played his cards extremely close to his chest and because of that,
the public was not allowed to scrutinize anything.

The only thing he really let slip was what he said to Joe the Plumber – that he
wanted to redistribute money.

I believe that President Obama is doing the same thing here with respect to his
definition of what it means to be a Christian. As a politician, he wants to put
people at ease because too many believe him to be a Muslim. There’s good
reason for that because he is the first president to cancel the National Day of
Prayer celebration at the White House – saying he did not want to offend – and
instead chose to pray with 50,000 Muslims not far from the Capitol that same
day.

President Obama constantly sends out mixed signals – signals that can be
interpreted in a number of ways – and allows people to come to their own
conclusions.

Maybe the question of whether he is a Christian or not does not really make a
difference to you. Maybe you don’t care if he’s Muslim, Christian, or nothing.
That’s fine, but I believe that the President of the United States – if he’s going to
say anything at all – should say things that can be clearly understood.

In his reference to being a Christian, he focuses on the death of Jesus Christ and
he says that this is an example of the humility that all people must have within
them. What does that have to do with being an authentic Christian?

In reality, Jesus’ death did NOT speak to the fact that we all have to be humble.  It
speaks to the fact that we are completely UNABLE to save ourselves and
therefore must depend upon and submit ourselves to Him in order to receive
salvation.

I do not see this understanding in President Obama’s statement about his own
version of Christianity.  He has taken Christ’s death and turned it into something
that is a social statement, not a spiritual statement.  Because of that, he seems to
have missed the point entirely.
President Obama also stated, “I think my public service is a part of that effort to
express my Christian faith.”  Really? If I were President Obama, I would not point
to my public service record as something to be proud of, nor do I believe his
record validates him as a Christian.

Frankly, I’m not sure how he can equate his public service with Christianity,
especially given his public service record.  Consider that he is pro-abortion to the
core.  He also seems to disregard the U.S. Constitution at will.  He completely
ignores the will of the people in his decision-making.  He has ties with known
terrorists and questionable people.  We are not even sure if he has a legal right to
be president, yet this is part of the record that he holds up to prove that he is a
Christian! Obviously, I must be missing something here.

Regarding how he lives, he stated that he since he believes he is”…my brother’s

and sister’s keeper, treating others as they would treat me” is the way to go.  Of
course, we know that is from Christ’s Sermon on the Mount and yes, Jesus was
talking about how to live our lives.  But Jesus stated much more than this as not
only the gospels, but the epistles bear out as well.

Christianity is not a social experiment as many are trying to make it today.  It is

not teaching people to adopt ways of life that make it easier for them and others
to live.  Certainly, in some cases, that may be part of it, but Christianity at its root,
is a spiritual transaction.

The third chapter of the gospel of John is where we read of the situation of Jesus
talking with Nicodemus.  Nicodemus is a Pharisee, one of the religious leaders of
the time.  He was obviously curious about Jesus and drawn to Him.  Something
within his own life resonated when he heard Jesus speak.  When Nicodemus was
around Him, something pricked at his conscious.  He needed greater
understanding so he went in search of Jesus and found in, under cover of night
because he did not want other Pharisees or religious leaders to see him going to
Jesus.

In this third chapter of John, Jesus speaks of being “born again,” or “born from
above” as being necessary for salvation.  This confused Nicodemus who had no
clue what it meant.  Jesus chides him for his lack of understanding given that he is
a religious teacher to the nation of Israel. Let’s look at the actual text, starting
with verse one:

1There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

2The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou
art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest,
except God be with him.

3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be
born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

I like how Jesus ignores Nicodemus’ compliment. In spite of the compliments

given by Nicodemus, Jesus goes right to the heart of the matter by telling him
what was on Nicodemus’ mind. Jesus said that a man must be born again in order
to see God.

CONTINUING WITH VERSE FOUR…

4Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter
the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and
of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is
spirit.

Jesus points out that unless there is a second birth, there is no salvation at all.  It
is this second birth that provides the individual with salvation and that equates to
eternal life.

Once salvation is given, it cannot be rescinded.  When this second birth occurs,
several things happen.  Paul tells us in the book of Romans – chapter 8, verse 9; 1
Corinthians three sixteen and six nineteen - the Holy Spirit comes to indwell the
person and in Ephesians one thirteen and fourteen, Paul tells us that the Holy
Spirit also seals that individual unto the day of redemption.  In other words, the
seal as Paul states in Ephesians, is a guarantee of the full inheritance that we will
receive after this life is over.

I realize there are those who (in my opinion) mock God by believing that salvation
can be lost.  I also realize that there are those who (in my opinion) mock God by
easy-believism, thinking that salvation is merely a life insurance policy against
hell, but life can be lived however now.  Both of these viewpoints (in my opinion)
are completely erroneous.

In the former, someone or something would have to be strong enough to break

the seal of the Holy Spirit.  Since the Holy Spirit is God, I know of no one who can
overcome Him.  Some though believe that the Christian can simply choose to walk
away and that God would do nothing to stop that individual.  This is absurd and is
not Scriptural, at least that I can find.  The parable of the Prodigal Son does not
prove this point at all.  The point Jesus was making there is completely different.

All that aside though, it should be clear that salvation is a spiritual transaction, not
a social one.  It is something that happens within us based on our faith in who
Jesus Christ is and what He has accomplished for us.  It is from that vantage point
that our life becomes new and things change.  We have then entered the process
of having our lives remolded into the image and character of Jesus Christ.  The
process continues throughout the remainder of our life only to culminate in the
next life, after death.

President Obama also stated that as he believes he is his brother’s and sister’s
keeper, he tries to live in a way that exemplifies that belief.

We pointed out that this Golden Rule – from Matthew 5 – is certainly the way
that Christ told people to live. However, we also indicated that in making this
statement, Jesus was clearly trying to show people that they were UNABLE to live
that way in and of themselves all the time. No one can do it and because no one
can do it, obviously something much more is necessary.

President Obama further stated that he believed his public service record proves
his Christianity.
We disagreed, indicating that if anything, his public service record far from proves
his Christianity, and in essence, might even prove that he is not a Christian.

We went onto explain how Jesus Himself defines Christianity, from the Gospel of
John, chapter three. In that section, Jesus tells Nicodemus – the Pharisee who
came to find Jesus under cover of darkness – that in order to see God (another
way of saying “to have salvation) – a person must be born again.

We explained that to be born again is a spiritual transaction that takes place in

the spiritual realm, and does a number of things for the individual:

 The Holy Spirit takes up residence inside the person

 The Holy Spirit seals the person UNTIL the day of redemption, which is
AFTER this life

We also talked about the fact that for many people today, Christianity is simply a
way of living your life, doing things that seem to be Christian or good. In other
words, for too many, Christianity is a social experiment, as opposed to a spiritual
transaction.

What President Obama has explained is merely a way of doing things or looking
at things.  Just as someone can change their jacket, anyone can adopt a different
outlook on life.  Anyone can decide to start doing things differently from how they
were done prior.  Alcoholics can choose to work toward freedom from being
controlled by alcohol.  People can quit smoking cigarettes, or do what it takes to
become drug free. People can go cold turkey with chocolate…though I would not
recommend it, or decide to no longer have caffeine.

While these may be good in themselves, they do not equal salvation because they
are all done from the outside of the person.  In other words, a person sees
something in themselves they want to change, so they do what they can to adopt
an attitude that will bring that about.  When a person becomes a Christian, the
Holy Spirit takes up residence within the person and causes the changes
necessary to come about.  He does this from WITHIN the person, and He may do
this in any number of ways, such as through chastisement, external situations that
force the person to their knees, through the efficacy of Scripture, or other ways
besides.

Whether people like to hear this or not, what President Obama was referring to is
nothing more than the Golden Rule (treat others and you yourself wish to be
treated), Matthew seven and Luke six.  While this is an excellent way to live,
ultimately, it is merely a way to live.  In and of itself, the Golden Rule does not
provide salvation to a person.  It can only tell a person how to live.

Moreover, who among us can actually live the Golden Rule all the time?  No one
can.  If we could we would not need salvation.  It is because we CANNOT live it
100% of the time that a need remains in our life.

Christ said these things to cause people to look at themselves seriously and to
take stock of themselves.  It is only when we come to the realization that we are
completely unable to live the Golden Rule 100% of the time as Jesus Himself did,
that we begin to understand that Jesus is saying “Since you cannot live the Golden
Rule all the time without any discrepancy, then you need something that will
allow you to live it.  That something is salvation.”

Salvation through Jesus Christ provides the impetus and ability to live the Golden
Rule, however, in the remaining time of our earthly life, we will not live it
perfectly.  The one thing that salvation does not do is remove the sin nature.  That
is what fights against us until we die, when at that point, Jesus will remove it from
us forever.

I don’t see any of this in President Obama’s definition of Christianity.  I do not see
that he truly understands what it means to be a Christian.  What he presents is a
watered-down, liberal, socialistic form of something he calls Christianity.  It simply
does not stand up to the truth of Scripture.

President Obama must do this because it keeps people guessing. Just as when he
laments to a journalist recently that he cannot wear his birth certificate on his
forehead, he wants people to think what they want to think about him, as long as
it serves his purpose.
Regarding his birth certificate, that statement he made about wearing his birth
certificate on his forehead presumes that he has actually shown the world his
actual birth certificate. He has not shown a long form birth certificate and it
should be mandatory for EVERY person who seeks to run for the highest office of
this land that they PROVE they are natural born citizens of this country. I don’t
believe he has done that. Had he actually shown a real birth certificate (not a
registration of birth, or anything of that nature), the question about his eligibility
would be moot.

He ACTS as though he has proven something when he has not. This is exactly
what he is doing here with respect to whether or not he is a Christian. He leaves
you to guess. If you support him already, then his answer about being a Christian
is fine – fully acceptable. If you do not support him, then he assumes that nothing
he can say will satisfy you.

President Obama has at times stated that he is Muslim, while at other times
stated that he is not, that he was raised “Christian.” The facts speak for
themselves.

President Obama has continually addressed (or ignored) issues that are important
to this country’s safety as if they are not. Recently, he stated that Islam is not the
problem. Al Queda is the problem. This is absolutely incorrect because Al Queda
exists due to Islam. If we were talking about a handful of radicals, that would be
one thing. We are not. We are talking about thousands and thousands of radical
Muslims, who have all been taught by the Qur’an, the sacred text of Islam It is
clear that the thousands of radical Muslims have gained their understanding from
the Qur’an, which is the result of their upbringing and dedication to Allah.

President Obama has worked to downplay the term “terrorist” and has ruled that
the term cannot be used in interdepartmental memos throughout our
government in Washington. Beyond this, he has given terrorists the impression
that he wants to do business with them, or that he can negotiate with them. This
is in spite of rhetoric from people like President Ahmadinejad, in which he
spitefully castigates the United States, Israel, and all who stand in the way of
Islam’s progression.
In short, with President Obama, we have a person whom I believe to be a usurper,
someone who is illegally our president, and who works to overthrow the very
system that this country was founded upon.

I believe that President Obama believes that as long as he can keep this country in
a state of flux, it will eventually lead to overthrow.  This overthrow will then mean
more government control, not less.  A country that is controlled by a federal
government is a country of individuals that have lost their freedom.

The federal government was originally put in place to protect the individual
states.  In the last how many decades, under Democratic Socialists like the
Clintons and others, it has meant more government control, and a greater loss of
freedoms for states and individuals.  This is what President Obama is working
toward.  He wants the overthrow of this country and he is working feverishly to
get us there.

President Obama needs to be ousted from office and the sooner, the better.  We
can only hope that democrats with Socialist leanings will be ousted this
November, thereby breaking the strength of the Oval Office.

Even when the GOP comes out and promises to reduce taxes, repeal Obama’s
health care bill and other things, the media is quick to say that it will have little
effect on voters.  Not sure how they arrived at that point, but it appears to be a
guess in favor of Obama. Just as the liberal media created the situation that
placed Obama in office, this same media seems to want to do anything to keep
him in office, in spite of what it means for this country.

The truth of the matter is that we can see that with a number of comments and
personal attacks on GOP members, President Obama is running scared.  He knows
he has a lot to lose and this voter hopes he does lose.

President Obama has been good for this country in only one sense:  he has made
the general populace aware of the fact that when a candidate runs for office, he
should not be elected based on what he does not say, or what he purposefully
omits, or based on how the media presents him.
