Restoring Mother Earth: One Stitch at a Time

This project is entitled Restoring Mother Earth: One Stitch at a Time. This project

revolves around the recycling of old fabrics into tote bags. The tote bags will be sold to

every interested buyer at the price of P200.00. 90% of the total sales will be going to the

MCM Student Council, while the remaining 10% of the proceeds will be going to the

partners of this project, the science and arts club.

Objectives

The following are the specific results this project aims to achieve within the given

time frame and available resources:

• Let the Malayans understand the importance of helping the community through

hardwork and creativity.

• To help in the use of old clothes by revamping the fabric to make a new product.

• Provide flexibility to the students in extending their creativity skills by producing a

product through recycled materials.

• Secure a responsible opportunity for the students to fully utilize their skills while

making a significant contribution to the success of the project.

• To help in the improvement of the future school projects by directing the proceeds

to the MCM Student Council.

Significance of the Project

The following stakeholders will benefit in the implementation of this project:

• Science and Arts Club Members. They can benefit in this project by honing

their individual talents, skills, and creativity in sewing and producing tote

bags. At the same time, their entrepreneurship skills will also be practiced

as they sell their products to different individuals.

• MCM Student Council. This project will help the MCM Student Council by

providing them with monetary support for their future projects for the

school.

• Students, Faculty, and Staff. They can benefit from this project by being able

to contribute to the lessening of wastes in the environment. Also, this project

will give use to their old fabrics left at home.

• Malayan Colleges Mindanao. The school can benefit from this project by

becoming the pioneer in implementing such project with the aim of

contributing to the reduction of wastes in the environment.

Procedure

The following steps will be observed in carrying out the said project. First, the group

will be providing a donation box at the entrance of the school building. The donation

box is open to all students, faculty, and staff of Malayan Colleges Mindanao. Once full,

the fabrics will be collected and be made into tote bags in partnership with the members

of the science and arts club. After which, the tote bags will be sold within and outside

the school campus. The collected money will then be given to the student council and

be used in their future projects.
