Position Description

JOB TITLE: General Manager

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Chief Executive Officer.

GRADE: M-3

Age: 55 years

JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible to look after the entire company affairs.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Provide strategic leadership and direction to all sections of WSSCM.

 To support the Chief Executive in the further development of an open, engaged and
learning culture.
 Participates in the development and preparation of short term and long term plans and
budgets based upon company’s goals and objectives. Recommends their adoption to the
Chief Executive Officer.
 Work as a key member of the executive team contributing to wider corporate strategy,
policy and decision-making.
 Liaises with the Chief Financial Officer in order to attract the support of Financial Institution
and solicit their cooperation in order to provide financing to the company timely.
 Ensure sustainable delivery of operational services to agreed performance, quality, safety,
financial and activity targets and commitments.
 Ensure appropriate systems, processes and performance management arrangements are
in place to deliver consistent high quality level of service provision and actively report and
monitor achievement.
 Ensures that all departmental staff, especially the key field staff are professionally
managed, mentored and developed as part of performance management practice.
 To lead the development of innovative and productive partnership with a wide range of
external stakeholders including donors, government authorities and administration.
 To lead on the Business Planning function.
 Adding value to, and promoting the success of the organization
 Any other task assigned by the employer.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Qualifications: ESSENTIAL


Bachelors in Civil Engineering / Mechanical
Engineering (PEC Registered) or Masters in
Environmental Engineering.
Knowledge & ESSENTIAL
Experience:  Over all 15 years of experience.
 At least 10 years of relevant.
DESIRABLE
 Prior working experience in similar like entity
Skills & ESSENTIAL
Abilities:
 Good working knowledge of Civic, ICT Technologies
 Excellent communications skills

DESIRABLE
 Strong problem solving skills and experience of
proactively identifying and addressing issues
