English Lesson Plan for Grade 4

I. Objective
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
A. differentiate singular with plural based on how they are written;
B. know the ways on how to make plural nouns;
C. transform singular noun to its plural form.

II. Subject Matter


Topic: Number of Nouns
Materials: Pictures
References: Basic Communication of Today’s Children 4 pp 41-45

III. Procedure
A. Daily Routine
1. Greetings
2. Checking of Attendance
3. Review of the past lesson

B. Motivation
Write on the board the group of words below:
A B
butter fruits
cheese vegetables
milk grapes
sugar apples
pineapple spices
papaya goodies

Let the students analyze and tell the difference between the two
set of words.

C. Lesson Proper
Write nouns with their singular and plural forms, ask the
students to study the singular forms and the plural forms of the nouns.
Show the patterns used in each noun that you have written on
the board.

D. Enrichment Activity
Divide the class into two groups, each group will be given set
of words, the first group will be given nouns in singular form, they will
give the plural form of each noun. The second group will be given plural
nouns; they will give the singular form of each noun.

IV. Generalization
Ask the students the following questions:
1. When do we use singular forms of noun?
2. When do we use plural forms of noun?

V. Evaluation
Give the plural forms of each noun.
1. ant
2. bag
3. dish
4. knife
5. child

VI. Assignment

Bring a picture of your family members.
