CONTEXT AND RATIONALE

Purpose of the Study

The purpose of this study is to create and develop a business scheme regarding

Cross Circuit Television (CCTV) to make it more affordable. The researchers innovate a

system to divide the total cost of CCTV. They take the opportunity specially the needs of

security in businesses and properties nowadays into income.

Background of the study

As a Grade 12 Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) students and

researchers in San Jose Del Monte Trade School - Senior Hign School, our school are in

need of CCTV for security, student monitoring, and EIM familiarization in this technology.

This study also a part of our plan to form a club for Industrial Arts (IA) strand students.

in the near future. In addition, Using this club, we visualize a future campus surrounded

with CCTV system. In addition, as a entrepreneurship view, We would like to be one of

the first if not the first to introduce to the market offering CCTV renting services.

Review of Related Literature

According to Ashby M.P.J. (2017), chances of many crimes to be solved can be

increase by significant percentage. This is also supported by the study of Korean

Engineering Student, Jihoon Kweon and Kyung-Hoon Lee (2016). According to them,

CCTV help to lessen the crime and helps to stop the attempt of criminal activity within

the area. However, the quality, placement and position of the cameras is vital for its

effectiveness.

According to Park Jung-oh and Kim Sanggeun (2015), there is a flaw on CCTV,

they discussed that CCTV can be breached or hacked. not to mention the CCTV graphic

quality depends on installation and quality of it. This problem can be solved by this study

this is due to the system of this study is to have a central room where the main recorder

will be placed in EIM room for safeguarding and maintenance.

The use of CCTV was also mandated by the Law, According to the 15th

Congress of the Republic of the Philippines: Third Regular Session, Senate Series

number 3339 introduce by late Senator Miriam Santiago, The Philippine National Police

acknowledges the usefullness of CCTV. They also acknowledege that the CCTV has

helped them to improve their efficiency in solving cases.

Research Question

The researchers of this study are on the Effectiveness of Cross Circuit Television

(CCTV) Camera for Rent as Source of Income.

Specifically the study would like to answer the following:

1. To explore the advantages of CCTV for security

2. To explore the advantages of CCTV as business

3. To determine the needs of people of CCTV in the campus.

4. To determine how CCTV prevent crime rate.

5. To determine how CCTV improve student performances

6. To determine the flaws of this idea.

Hypothesis

The study is important as it seeks the Efficiency of CCTV as business

Significance of the Study

The research would be beneficial to a number of individuals or group of people.

A. EIM Students – The primary reason of this study is to help the EIM students

to hone their skills in EIM and entrepeneurship

B. EIM Teachers - This study would help EIM teacher on their lectures specially

in actual performances or activity.

C. Students in General- This study may prevent and record student punctuality

and attitudes. It may prevent their tardiness and improve their performance

and behavior in the school.

D. Parents – Parents can request a copy of record about their children inside

the school within specified time.

E. Administrator– One of the special significance of this study is to help the

Administrator to monitor the situation in the Campus.

F. Teachers- Teacher can easily monitor their students trough their smart

phones and request a record in the central room.

G. Target Clients - Any establishments near the central room can avail the

services to help their security matters.

H. Future Researchers – The study would give them further idea for their

research that related to this study. They may also learn from our

accomplishments and mistakes to improve their research.

Scope and Limitation

This action research is limited only to the Senior High School students, Security

Guards, Teachers, and Canteen personel of San Jose Del Monte National Trade School

attending school year 2018 – 2019.

METHOD

Research Method

The experimental method is used in the study to obtain a systematic and

scientific approach in which the researchers use one or more variables, controls and

measures any change in dependent variables. The changes in variable can be

interpreted to formulate a fact based on the findings. Specifically the researchers utilizes

a questionaire type of quantitative research method which enables the researchers to

gather information from the respondent regarding the topics related to the study and how

they understand it.

Types of Research

The Study use quantitative types of research which emphasize objective

measurements and the statistical, mathematical, or numerical analysis of data collected

through questionaires.

Research Participants

The researchers will pick 20 Senior High School students, 10 teachers, and 10

school personels in San Jose Del Monte Trade School.

Sampling Method

The researchers used the Availability Sampling Technique in conducting the

study. According to research methodology, convenience sampling (also known as

availability sampling) is a specific type of non-probability sampling method that relies on

data collection from population numbers who are conveniently available to participate in

the study.

Proposed Innovation/Intervention/Strategy

The researcher aims to create a system which can provide CCTV for security

and at the same time, generate an income. the researchers offer near classrooms,

buildings, establishments, guardhouse and other businesses affordable security

monitoring system and services. The researchers understand that the cost of complete

CCTV set and installation is too expensive and not advisable for a small group. The

target client can rent just a piece of camera in very affordable price as well as installation

on camera on their desired location.

The Digital Video Recorder (DVR) will be placed at the central room chosen by

the researcher so that the EIM students including the researchers for maintenance and

safeguarding. Any clients can request a copy of a video as the contract states. In

addition, Teachers can monitor classes through smartphone as well as other clients.

Clients obliged to pay the renting price per month. The fund garnered will be used for

expanding the business.

Instruments

To test the efficiency of the study, the researchers decide to exhibit it and let the

public provide anwers. The instrument used for this study to gather information is by

mean of survey questionnaires adapted from other survey questionnaires. Not to

mention, the survey questionnaires tried to follow APA guideline according to Strickland,

J. (2017).

Data Collection Procedure

In order to collect data, the following steps are performed in data gathering.

1. The researchers submitted a proposed topic to the “Practical Research" teacher,

Ms. Liezel D. Tayson to allow the researchers conduct the study.

2. The researchers formulated a survey to be used in data gathering in the

participants of the study. The survey serves as a good instrument to the study in

order to collect information that is related to the study.

3. The researchers took only the sample size of Senior High School students,

Techers and Other Personnels in San Jose Del Monte National Trade School

and distributed the survey to the respondents.

4. The researchers had to wait for the respondent answer of the questionnaire to

obtain and retrieve the sample size rate to the study.

Ethical Consideration

The study has taken the ethical considerations while conducting the research.

First, the study assured that no individual will be harmed while conducting this study.

Secondly, the respondents of the survey have a right to refuse or withdraw to answer the

survey. Third, the respondent identity and personal info will be confidential. Lastly, the

research study includes investigators primary contact information.
