INSIDE OUT MOVIE

In June 19, 2015, the movie Inside Out was released by Pixar Animations
Studio and Walt Disney Picture. This 3D computer-animated movie is about the
five major emotions – Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger, and Disgust – occupying a the
mind of a preteen named Riley.
I remember watching this movie more than five times already as it is one of
the movies that really got me hooked. I can say that this movie is something that
I can relate on that’s why I really loved watching it before.
To be honest, I’m a very emotional person but I always try to hide my other
emotions with happiness. As much as possible, I want everyone around me to see
me as someone who’s always positive and cheerful. I don’t know but it’s just the
way I want it. I relate to Riley’s character because just like her, I always keep all
my feelings. I don’t want anyone to see my weaknesses and I always tell to others
that I’m okay even though I’m not. Even though I feel those most of the time, just
like Riley, I have a limit and eventually outburst. In addition, just like Riley, when I
was younger, I’ve also thought of running away. I guess these things are just
common to preteens as this stage in life, we are starting to explore and know
more what really life is and we find it hard to cope with it.
I’ve always seen life, love, and happiness as something that is always
together. Our life is should be full of love and happiness meaning if we feel
something’s lacking in those three, we are not genuinely happy.
There are lot of things that someone can grasp or learn in the whole movie
but I will just choose five. First, we should accept our feelings well. We shouldn’t
be ashamed or try to suppress it. Accept it as not doing so can lead to a lot of
bad things that a person can think of. Second, joy doesn’t really represents that
you are happy. Yes, you can be seen laughing and smiling but are you genuinely
happy? Third, letting go of something is part of our lives. In life, we must learn how
to let go of some things for more important happenings. Just like Bing Bong
sacrificing himself, it’s hard but we have to do it at some point in our life. Fourth, I
realized that even though everything’s falling apart just like her Personality Islands,
there is always a room for regrowth and that’s means you are getting matured
and you have a deeper and more understanding way of knowing life is. Lastly,
sadness is not “sad” rather it is important for us to feel it. It’s not always joy or
happiness, we must also feel sad to balance everything and to be honest in life,
sadness is inevitable. We always try to avoid sadness but in reality, we can’t get
away with it. That’s why instead of running away from it, we must learn to accept
it in ourselves as it will definitely make us a better and stronger person afterwards.
