The document discusses different types of safety meetings held in workplaces, focusing on the tool box meeting (TBM) which is a small group meeting typically held before starting work involving frontline supervisors and employees. Effective TBMs are short, focused discussions on recent safety issues, accidents, or topics relevant to the upcoming work that encourage participation and ensure key safety messages are communicated clearly. Regular TBMs help improve safety awareness by emphasizing precautions for hazards and problems and keeping safety top of mind.

• A 10 to 15 minute TBM can go a long way to emphasize
safety measures and help improve safety awareness • Never take TBM for granted; it is a very good tool – both of transparency & sincerity • Never assume that workers already know what will be discussed in your TBM • Keeping TBMs alive as well as lively is your challenge!
