ROMEE A. TAMSI
QUALIFICATION: COMPUTER SYSTEM SERVICING NC II

► Assessment is a process of collecting

evidence and making judgments on
whether or not the competency has been
achieved.

► There are 8 purposes of assessment:

1. To certify that an individual has

achieved the competency
2. To recruit and select candidates for a
job.
3. To monitor individual performance at
work
4. To determine the training needs
5. To conduct skills audit
6. To recognize prior learning
7. To classify a person against industry
or enterprise standard and
8. To provide feedback progress during
training

- The main purpose of this assessment is to

confirm if you can really perform the
standards expected in the workplace as
expressed in the relevant competency
standards in the Training Regulation.

- Not only that, this assessment will also

determine if you can still need necessary
training if you cannot perform the task.

Along with this perspective, you don’t need to

compete with one another, rather than you have
to test yourself whether you meet the
competency standard prescribe in the Training
regulations and Competency Based Curriculum.
Once you found competent, you will be issued
NC II certificate. You can use it in seeking
employment as your credential.
