CHAPTER 1

Introduction

What it would have been like if we have a theme park in the Philippines that can compare to Disney World?
Actually, we could have had one with Fantasy World! Fantasy World was never completed, but it has become a
famous landmark in Batangas. Yep, Batangas. Contrary to a popular misconception, Fantasy World is NOT in
Tagaytay. It rises in the middle of the rolling hills of Barangay Mayasang in Lemery, Batangas. Fantasy World
is a theme park located in Lemery, Batangas. It was built in 2001 and once owned by a Japanese businessman.
Right now, the home owners association operates and maintains the theme park.

In regard of this, our study entitled "Strengthening the promotion of fantasy world as a tourist destination in the
Phillippines through social media" aims to promote the beautiful sceneries of fantasy world.

Furthermore this study is not just a study but it also help the community of Lemery Batangas to show the huge
and beautiful scenery of fanstasy world.
Background of the study

Fantasy World would have been a world-class family entertainment facility, amusement, and recreation club
park in Lemery, Batangas. It represents something that might have been: a large-scale theme park on par with
places like Hong Kong Disneyland. Its medieval theme would’ve been a hit with families, especially kids, but it
was not to be. This study aims to promote the beautiful sceneries and well structure facility of the amusement
park using social media and known more about the history of abandoned amusement and also to help the
community of Lemery Batangas, to increase the promotion of tourist destination in the Philippines.
Theorical Framework

Once owned by a Japanese businessman, the park is now in the hands of the homeowner’s association. It was
meant to have rides that would rival those of Disneyland, along with the perks of being an exclusive theme park:
you can buy shares, or get a condo unit within the premises, and use the facilities of the park at no extra cost.

This, however, does not take away the fact that the park is still a sight to behold. Situated on top of a hill, it
offers great views of Taal Lake. The castle, although not as well-maintained, still makes for a great backdrop,
especially for photographers. The gardens are also a sight to behold, and are a favorite for pre-nuptial photo
shoots.

Entrance to the park is at P1,000 for up to 10 guests. Fantasy World is also great for families who want to enjoy
a quiet picnic in a medieval setting.
Conceptual Framework

Researchers indicate how Social Media can make an impact in strengthening the promotion of tourist
destination in the Philippines. Our strategy is IPO (Input, Process, and Output)

Statement of the problem

The researcher is written mainly to help broaden the society comprehension and understanding about how
Social Media can make an impact in strengthening the promotion of Fantasy World as a Tourist Destination in
the Philippines. The study aims to promote the Fantasy World as Tourist Destination in the Philippines.
Specifically, this study access to answer the following questions: 1. How social media can help for the
promotion of Fantasy world? 2. Does social media can make an impact for the promotion of Fantasy world? 3.
How can help to the travel Bloggers to know more knowledge about the amusement park?
Scope and Limitations

This study will focus on how to strengthen the promotion of Fantasy world as a tourist destination in the

Philippines. Meanwhile, it will deals on the motivation of the tourist in visiting the said amusement park in

Lemery Batangas, and try to the activities that help to improve towards local tourism industry and hospitality

management.
