    The following sentences contain both derivational and inflectional affixes. Cross out all of the
    derivational affixes and underline the inflectional affixes.

    1. The students walked quickly.


    2. It was snowing.
    3. The world’s strongest man lifts impossibly heavy weights.
    4. The teacher has written the story of his disappearance.

    Underline the content words and cross out the function words in the sentences below.

    1. I went to the store to buy milk.


    2. My dog had a sore on his paw and was taken to the vet.

    The position of a word in a sentence can change the meaning of the sentence. How does the meaning
    change in each of the following sentences?
