The training aimed to prepare teachers for disaster-related incidents by assigning them to teams focused on first aid, fire safety, and communication. The Division DRRM Coordinator said disasters can also occur in schools and emphasized the importance of preparing, especially for vulnerable groups. An actual simulation was performed by participants to practice their disaster response roles.

    DRRM supervise Capability Training for DCGs

    Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (DRRMC) supervised first ever
    capability training for Disaster Control Group (DCG) of Don Ruben Edera Ecleo Sr. Memorial
    National High School on September 24, 2019 at the DREESMNHS Quadrangle.
    “There is also disaster in DepEd” Rex Rojas, the Division DRRM Coordinator Division of
    Dinagat Islands said. “Arm ourselves from disaster especially the vulnerable person in the
    society” he added.
    The participants on the said event performed an actual simulation.
    The purpose of the training conducted is to prepare and control disaster-related
    incidences in or out of the school. Teachers were assigned with different tasks such as First Aid
    Team, Fire Safety Team, and Communication Team. [V]
