Life after death: in the light science and holy Qur’an

From the ancient time, human beings have believed that there is life after death. At the same
time, many people have been asking if it is possible life after death. But most of the people are
doubtful how it is possible.

Background of the Study:

As I am an occupational therapist and my job is to teach and to develop motivation on life of

people with spinal cord injury who lost their limbs. It is very hard to regain their motivation in
their life. On my experience, I find out two kinds of people, one group becomes motivated easily
and others are reluctant to depression and anxiety. On my investigation, I have found one
important factor of motivation in life is “Life after death” whether he/she belongs to any religion.

One group (A) of people with spinal cord injury (SCI) who have strong faith on life after death
trend lesser level of depression than others who have no or weaker level of faith on life after
death. Faithful people on “Life after death” usually take condition as a test or penalty from God,
and if they repent and seek forgiveness with earnest pray they will get better reward and eternal
life. They take it (injury) as a challenge to prove them as good human being. On other hand (B),
people who have fewer or no faith on life after hereafter, trend to consider the injury as a greater
loss of their life which will not be regained.

Imagine two persons with SCI whose hands and legs are paralyzed, both are at one (A) is
praying, reciting holy verses and looking for a better life at hereafter and other (B) is depressed,
hopeless, and bemoaning for the losses. For motivating A in engaging meaningful occupations, I
am getting supports of the story or verses of holy books but for B it is really hard to accept
his/her disability. “Faith on life after death” is really motivating tools for people with disability.

If I want to us it in hospital, I might have evidence. I have not found literature regarding this
point “Life after death” except religious books though there are lots of evidences on spiritual
healing.

Though most of the people in country (Bangladesh), I studied on Qur’an to know about “Life
after Death”. Interestingly, this book is inviting us to confirm the truth of “Life after Death”.

Allah is seeking our attention toward something to confirm the truths that life after death is
possible. For example:

“Man says: "What! When I am dead, shall I then be raised up alive?" But does not man call to
mind that We created him before out of nothing?” (Al-Qur’an 19:66-67)

(Sing of our starting of my life. Before creating our sperm we were nothing. )

“We created you, so why do you not confirm the truth? Have you thought about the sperm that
you ejaculate? Is it you who create it or are We the Creator?” (Qur'an, 56: 57-59)

(Sign of the Sperm is responsible origin of my life and it is the indicator to verify Life after
Death)
Who can clearly say this 14th century ago by an unlettered person and when it was considered as
dark ages by western philosophers? Answer is Allah almighty Lord, the creator and sustainer of
this universe, only who knows everything.

After reading these verses, I started to think about my creation.

Who am I?

Answer: I am a human being.

What is my specialty than other animal?

I have some special characteristics that other animal do not have. Such as ability to judge, ability
to learn through observation and innovation, ability to reasoning, feeling to self-accomplishment,
ability to change my position, generosity etc (this are my positive site). And also I have negative
side such ability to harm, cruelty, selfishness, arguments, Greediness, jealousy etc.

In contrary, other animals are so different. What is innate on them, the pass their rest of life with
those innate characteristics. Moreover, human baby born in most unlearn way with a solid brain
but after exploring with it surrounding environments it gradually learn things one by one and
once it becomes as most intelligent creature. But other animal born with some special
characteristic for example baby cattle can walk with few minutes after it’s birth then find out
mothers breast and with few days or weeks start to eat certain kind of grass or leaves and rest of
life, they pass by eating grass only. No need to change their appetite. In context of human being
it so different.

Why does these huge differences of human being with other animal?

Main factor is our gene or DNA. It is determining every biological and physiological instinct of
every living creature.
The biological and physiological information of our body are coded through genetic coding at
our DNA.

That is exactly mentioned in holy Qur’an:

Verily We shall give life to the dead, and We record that which they send before and that which
they leave behind, and of all things have We taken account in a clear Book (of evidence). (Al-
Qur’an 36:12)

How did I come in the world?

First of all, I have to realize about my first DNA. How it was form? It was formed by meiosis
cell division at my father’s and mothers body after that it form sperm and ovum and stored at
testis and ovary. Interestingly, they are not complete DNA, Sperm is determiner and ovum is
receiver. Sperm contain XY or XX (identity) but Ovum contain XX chromosome.

Think, for creation of myself, parents are required. For every person’s creation two people one
male and other female are required. Does it not confirm that human being started their life from a
couple? Yes, according to religious scripture, two couple is our origin in this earth.

If things are not like that, millions of questions will arise then that could not be solved. For
example, one group of people are developed at north America and other are in Asia. How did
they knew, those people has two eyes we also need two eyes? How did they know, those people
have 23 pairs of chromosomes, we also need same number of chromosome otherwise we could
not marry them? …………………………………… they are not a solvable question. If we try to
answer them, we have to be mad. Theories of evolution, e.g. Darwinism, are never ever able to
solve it.

Then they would say of, a couple suddenly developed first. Then also, they will not be able
thousands of questions regarding this matter. For example, why did they develop interdependent
way? How did they know, he/she the genetic structure of each other? How did they determine
the number of chromosome of each body so that their conception could occur?
………………………….. ……………… ….. Again, these types of questions are not soluble. If
I try to answer them, I must be mad.

If I say, almighty God made them, all problems are solved. DNA is a supreme form of
programming. Would please answer, can any program be without a programmer? Answer is
“Impossible”. Think about everything of your body, world or universe. There is nothing that is
not purposeful or not benefited for us. Everything is programmed. Is it we who did the program
of the universe? Only answer is almighty GOD.

No constructive things are the result of by chance or accident. Accident causes destruction not
construction.

Almighty God says about it at holy Qur’an:

Let not their speech, then, grieve thee. Verily We know what they hide as well as what they
disclose. Doth not man see that it is We Who created him from sperm? Yet behold! he (stands
forth) as an open adversary! And he makes comparisons for Us, and forgets his own (origin and)
Creation: He says, "Who can give life to (dry) bones and decomposed ones (at that)?" Say, "He
will give them life Who created them for the first time! for He is Well-versed in every kind of
creation. (Al-Qur’an 36:76-79)

(Clear sign of sperm is responsible of sex or our identity. We know male has XY or XX
chromosome whereas female has only XX chromosome, therefore scientists say, Sperm is
determiner and Ovum is receiver. In our lame society, there are still so many people who blame
their wives for giving female child birth. However, it is clearly mentioned in a book 4th century
ago. Who can clearly say it 14th century ago, when dark ages were going on? Answer: It is
mentioned by either an unlettered person or by Almighty Lord, Allah, who knows everything. It
is another proof that Quran is the words of God (Allah). )
Next stages of our creation:

Step 2: Billions of sperm gathered at testis before they are being ejaculated. They could be either
XX or XY. Al-Qur’an says about it as:

Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay); Then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm in a
place of rest, firmly fixed; (Qur'an, 23:12-13)

He has created both sexes, male and female from a drop of semen which has been ejected.
(Qur'an, 53:45-46)

Step 3:

Then become a drop of semen with other necessary fluid, so that they can swim and race.
Al-Qur’an says about it as:

5. Does man reckon he will be left uncontrolled [without purpose]? Was he not once a drop of
ejected semen? (Qur'an, 75:36-37)
Who could clearly say it 14th century ago? Answer Allah only.

Step 4:

Pregnancy starts after the conception of sperm and ovum by forming zygote in proportionate
connection of chromosome of sperms and ovum. It is important to note that every portion of
sperm is damaged except DNA before forming the Zygote.
Al-Qur’an says about it as:

He Who has created all things in the best possible way. He commenced the creation of man from
clay; then He made his progeny from an extract of discarded fluid. (Qur'an, 32:7-8)
Who could clearly say it 14th century ago? Answer Allah only.

Curse man for his ingratitude! From what thing did He create him? From a drop of sperm He
created him and proportioned him. (Qur'an, 80:17-19).

Wasn't he a drop of ejaculated sperm, then an embryo which He created and shaped, making
from it both sexes, male and female? (Qur'an,75:37-39)

Step 5:

After forming Zygote, mitosis cell division starts followed by stage by stage development of the
organs of our body.

Al-Qur’an says about it as:

He creates you stage by stage in your mothers' wombs in three fold darkness. That is Allah, your
Lord. Sovereignty is His. There is no deity but Him. So what has made you deviate? (Qur'an,
39:6)

[We] then formed the drop into an embryo and formed the embryo into a lump and formed the
lump into bones and clothed the bones in flesh; and then brought him into being as another
creature. Blessed be Allah, the Best of Creators! (Qur'an, 23:14)

Who could clearly say it 14th century ago? Answer Allah only.

We created man from a mingled drop to test him, and We made him hearing and seeing. (Qur'an,
76:2)

(Sign of semen and order of sensory organ’s development. Recent scientific discovery say that
our development of hearing or ears occurs first then sight or eyes) Who could clearly say it 14th
century ago? Answer Allah only.

Who can surly say it 14th century ago? Answer Allah only.

Step: 6

After getting the shape of complete human baby from embryological development, it is called as
fetus. All body parts start to get matured and to gain functions. Our sensory organs ears and eyes
are started to gain their functions. First matured sensory system is hearing, next is sights and
third is our perceptions. That is also clearly mentioned in holy Qur’an:
It is He Who has created hearing, sight and minds for you. What little thanks you show! (Qur'an,
23:78)

Step 7: Birth or Delivery

During delivery or child birth, pelvic ligaments become loosen due to hormone secretion causing
path of delivery widen and gliding movements of baby make it easy to birth, if any problem
occurs in this process then surgery is must.

“……..Then He eases the way for him”. (Qur'an, 80:20)

Who does determine the hormone secretion during birth?

Who could clearly say it 14th century ago? Answer Allah only.

Step 8: Infant.

Child’ born is occurred with a solid brain without knowing anything. But it comes some senses
that help to learn quickly from surrounding environment. That is also clearly mentioned at holy
Qur’an:
Allah brought you out of your mothers' wombs knowing nothing at all, and gave you hearing,
sight and minds so that perhaps you would show thanks. (Qur'an, 16:78)

Above mentioned verses will help you to understand following verse about the confirmation of
life after death. I suggest you to read above mentioned verses again than read following verse.

Now the final verses: Let us to analyze how life after death is certainly possible

Please, read following verses of holy Quran carefully and attentively

"3. And yet among men there are such as dispute about Allah, without knowledge, and follow
every evil one obstinate in rebellion!
4. About the (Evil One) it is decreed that whoever turns to him for friendship, him will he lead
astray, and he will guide him to the Penalty of the Fire.
5. O mankind! if ye have a doubt about the Resurrection, (consider) that We created you out of
dust, then out of sperm, then out of a leech-like clot, then out of a morsel of flesh, partly formed
and partly unformed, in order that We may manifest (our power) to you; and We cause whom
We will to rest in the wombs for an appointed term, then do We bring you out as babes, then
(foster you) that ye may reach your age of full strength; and some of you are called to die, and
some are sent back to the feeblest old age, so that they know nothing after having known (much),
and (further), thou seest the earth barren and lifeless, but when We pour down rain on it, it is
stirred (to life), it swells, and it puts forth every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs).
6. This is so, because Allah is the Reality: it is He Who gives life to the dead, and it is He Who
has power over all things.
7. And verily the Hour will come: there can be no doubt about it, or about (the fact) that Allah
will raise up all who are in the graves.
8. Yet there is among men such a one as disputes about Allah, without Knowledge, without
Guidance, and without a Book of Enlightenment,-
9. (Disdainfully) bending his side, in order to lead (men) astray from the Path of Allah. for him
there is disgrace in this life, and on the Day of Judgment We shall make him taste the Penalty of
burning (Fire).
10. (It will be said): "This is because of the deeds which thy hands sent forth, for verily Allah is
not unjust to His servants." (Al-Quran 22: 3-10)

If you analyze the verse 5-8: You will realize how we will be raised up after
our death:

1. “We created you out of dust” Yes it is true that we are created from dust first. Scientific
evidences have found that the constituent of our body mass is almost same of the constituents of
soil. Therefore, first person of the earth must be from earth. (1st proof).

2. “then out of sperm” hen we were in sperm. Yes, now-a-days, scientific finding is telling that
sperm is responsible of the child. Sperm is the determiner of the child because sperm carry XX
or XY DNA but ovum is receiver as it carry only xx DNA. What is the DNA? DNA is a
programming of a child's biological information through genetic coding. Now I am asking you,
can a program be without a programmer? Answer No. So, who has done the program of DNA?
Answer Allah only. Which portion of sperm meets with Ovum? DNA. So who could surely say
in Quran about Sperm is only responsible for child 14th century ago? Allah only. (2nd proof).
3. “then out of a leech-like clo”t (here it uses Arabic word "Alaq")
Arabic word "Alaq" has three distinct meaning: a leach-like clot, something clinch, and
something feed blood from others body.
Here Quran wisely uses the word "Alaq". It could use the other word of those three meanings.
Now analyze our "embryo". During the first phase of blastocyte, when no blood vessels are not
formed, it seems like blood clot, (1st meaning is the proof), Our Embryo does also clinch at
mother womb (2nd meaning is the proof) and our embryo does also feed blood from mothers
body (3rd meaning is proof). Here by a "word", Quran is telling details our first stage of life
(Embryo). However, we have knew about these information very recently due to advancement of
medical technology. So, who can clearly say it in Quran 14th century ago? Answer Allah only
(3rd proof),

4. "then out of a morsel of flesh, partly formed and partly unformed, in order that We may
manifest (our power) to you";

It is about one stage of out fetal development. When some body parts like brain and internal
organs are developed, and external organs like skeleton, skin, and skull are yet to developed. We
knew about these type of very recently due to advancement of medical technology. But who can
clearly state it in Quran 14th century ago? Answer, Allah only. (4th proof).

5. "We cause whom We will to rest in the wombs for an appointed term, then do We bring you
out as babes)"

Yes not all fetus born. Some are aborted (abortion) and Others come out as babes. (5th proof)

6."then (foster you) that ye may reach your age of full strength"

Yes we are fostered by our parents passionately. Allah provids devine love on their heart for us.
Without love of our parents or who care us, it is impossible for us to reach at out age of full
strength. (6th proof)
7. "and some of you are called to die, and some are sent back to the feeblest old age, so that they
know nothing after having known (much), and (further)",

Many of us die at any stage of our life cycle but some reach at one stage of life when they forget
manything (elderly) (Memory loss occur at that stage. (7th proof)

8. "thou seest the earth barren and lifeless, but when We pour down rain on it, it is stirred (to
life), it swells, and it puts forth every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs)".

When rain water is put on barren lands, lives (trees) automatically come out from it. One
example of dead soil is "bricks" but due to rain water fungi or other green life come out from it.
How can it occur? It was burn at 1000 degree F, but DNA of Fungi or other green grasses are yet
to remain on them. When, those DNAs got proper medium, those alive. (8th proof)

9. "This is so, because Allah is the Reality: it is He Who gives life to the dead, and it is He Who
has power over all things".

Though above mentioned points are the truth, Allah also is the truth. In this process, Allah will
alive whom, who are death. Allah has power over all things. (9th proof)

10. "And verily the Hour will come: there can be no doubt about it, or about (the fact) that Allah
will raise up all who are in the graves"

Surely one day this world will damaged. Allah will recreate this world. Then everyone graves
will come up. What does happen in graves? Our bodies mixed with soil from where we firstly
created. What is remain of us at soil. That is our DNA. For example, we do DNA test of
thousand years' old bones what we find out due to archeological researh. That means DNA does
not spoil even though we die.

If I ask you, is it impossible for Allah to make us again from our DNA mixed at soil? Answer,
No, it is likely possible, because trees also come out from their DNA.
Suppose, Allah makes the earth's environment as like as the environment of mother's womb.
Then we all will automatically come out together from soils.
Another place of holy Quran (I cannot remember the reference now), Allah says, "Creation of all
human beings are as easier as He create a single human being" "When he wants to do
something, He just says "Be" and "It is". (Final proof)

(Offcurse we will be raised up again)

11. “ Yet there is among men such a one as disputes about Allah, without Knowledge, without
Guidance, and without a Book of Enlightenment”,-

Yes it truly says, after seeing this proof, many people will not believe on Allah and on his
revilation holy Qu’ran and on his last Messenger Prophet Mohammad (pbuh). That is another
proof.

Thanks to my Lord who has given me to read and to study on his Final Testament. In this way he
is teaching us, he is knowing us all the truths from 1st day of creation to last day to eternal life
with clear pices of evidence.

Lastly I am stating one verse for Holy Qur’an:

“And We have sent down the Book to you with truth, confirming and conserving the previous
Books. So judge between them by what God has sent down and do not follow their whims and
desires, deviating from the Truth that has come to you. We have appointed a law and a practice
for every one of you. Had God willed, He would have made you a single community. But He
wanted to test you regarding what has come to you. So compete with each other in doing good.
Every one of you will return to God, and He will inform you regarding the things about which
you differed.(Surat al-Ma'ida 5: 48)”

God (Allah) has divided us into many group as if to test us: For example

1. for me: what am I doing after accepting the truth? What am I doing to spread the messages of
truth?

2. for you: After showing you clear pieces of evidences, are you accepting or rejecting the truths?

Please do not say anything about Allah, in which you have no clear proof or evidences. Do
not belief on what people say, look on the books and confirm the truths about Allah.
Otherwise you will be punished at the Day of Judgment. As Allah said at the starting of
those verses:

“And yet among men there are such as dispute about Allah, without knowledge, and follow every
evil one obstinate in rebellion! About the (Evil One) it is decreed that whoever turns to him for
friendship, him will he lead astray, and he will guide him to the Penalty of the Fire”. (Al-Quran
22:3-4)

Those who reject our Signs, We shall soon cast into the Fire: as often as their skins are roasted
through, We shall change them for fresh skins, that they may taste the penalty: for Allah is
Exalted in Power, Wise. (sign of pain receptor at skin) (Al-Qur’an 4:56)

I am inviting you to read holy Qur’an at least ones. As Allah has made it easy to understand:

“But We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that
will receive admonition?” (Al-Qur’an 54:22)
There is no discrepancy at Qur’an:

Do they not consider the Qur'an (with care)? Had it been from other Than Allah, they would
surely have found therein Much discrepancy. (Al-Qur’an 4:82)

Conclusion:

In my working experiences, I have found people with spinal cord injury who have lost their four limbs
but they are still not hopeless as they had strong belief to regain everything in hereafter. They are
engaged in extreme point of their life, yet they are maintaining a productive life. “Believing of Life after
death” is also a motivating tool for the rehabilitation of the people with disability for engaging them in
meaningful occupation. But if we want to apply it at our clinical setting we need clear pieces of evidence.
To understand life after death, we have to understand our creation and also we have read Holy Scripture
carefully. Hope this article will be helpful to understand the concepts of life after death. Furthermore,
we need more scientific investigation on our DNA after death. That might provide us more clear proof
life after death. Therefore, we can apply this concept more widely for the beneficence of human being.
If all people are certain about life after death, the straight way to get eternal life after death and the
purposes of this life, sure they will not be hopeless at any situation of his/her life.
