Visit sites and conduct physical asset verification of
electrical systems and equipment in the oil and gas
refinery of Qatar Petroleum.
Prepare Installation, commissioning and maintenance
procedures for electrical systems in the refinery of Qatar
Petroleum.
Spare parts optimisation in Microsoft Excel. Suggest
spare parts and materials based on specifications. Use
NACE, ASTM and AMSE and other international standards

Nanophotonics in Solar PV Technology

This research project aimed at exploring the advanced technology
of nanophotonics implemented in the most used renewable energy,
Qatar
Solar Power.
Solar power and its applications were studied indepth. The working
and design of PV-cell or the photovoltaic cell was studied. The
challenges faced by the solar power generation were determined.
Nanophotonics was researched deeply. Application of
nanophotonics in PV-cells was studied. Light trapping by
nanophotonics and the increase light absorbtion by thin layers was
also explored. Contruction of nanophotnic thin layers was studied.
Efficiency of the design and further improvements were discussed.
The advantages were listed.
Building Designing and simulation for Energy Efficiency
enhancement using EnergyPlus (02/2016 – 05/2016)
Designed a baseline building of given design parameters using
OpenStuido. Determined the Electricity and Natural Gas
consumption of the building, Light loads and HVAC Profiles of the
building using EnergyPlus.
Re-designed the building using EnergyPlus with energy efficiency
measures and building material selection from ASHRAE chart which
are apt for the building.
Electricity and Natural Gas consumption for the enhanced building
were determined . Both the outputs were compared.
An increase in Energy efficiency of 30% was recorded.
Energy Efficiency Measures (ECM) were suggested for the
buildings.
The output was exported and a detailed audit report was prepared
using the simulation results

Research Project - Green Buildings or Net Zero Energy
Buildings. (02/2016 – 05/2016)
This paper deals with the conceot of Net zero energy buildings. In
this type of buildings the total energy used by the building is
generated in the building using renewable energy methods.
The concept of Net zero energy buildings is studied in detail. The
methods of achieving Net zero energy are discussed. Advantages of
Net zero energy buildings were discussed.
An existing Net zero building is taken into consideration and
analysed in detail.
Design Project -Determine Internal heat gains of Small
Office building using Trace 700 (02/2017 – 05/2017)
Designed a Small office building using Trace 700 software.
Identified and quantified in a detailed manner, the reasonable
internal heat gains for the small office building.
Determined design heating and cooling loads for the building.
Calculated the air quantities for each room and design an system to
meet the required heating and air conditioning for the office.
Research Project in Renewable Energy - Biofuel
(09/2015 – 12/2015)
This paper deals about the concept of biodiesel as renewable fuel,
its resources, applications, advantages and limitations. Biodiesel is a
renewable alternative fuel created from vegetable oils, animal fats,
and greases through a chemical process.
Sources of Biodiesel were researced and the production process of
Biodiesel was discussed. The transesterification process whihc plays
keyrole in the production if the biodiesel was studied in detail.
Productionmethods of Biodiesel were discussed in brief. The
properties and Chemistry of Biodiesel were also deeply analysed.
The types of blends formed by mixing petroleum diesel and
biodiesel were discussed.
Simulation of Energy Efficiency measures for building
energy consumption (08/2017 – Present)
The aim of the project is to choose a building and improve its
energy consumption efficiency using EnergyPlus and ASHRAE
parameters.
Chose a building for which energyimprovement is to be done. Got
the building energy usage information. Design the building in
EnergyPlus and simulate to get results. Chose ASHRAE energy
improvement parameters to be incorporated in the building.
Different Energy improvement techniques will be tried in the
building. The building will be redesigned with effective ASHRAE
parameters and simulated in EnergyPlus. The results of the basline
model and new model will be compared and the report will be
produced.
