AN ACT SEPARATING THE CITY OF BATANGAS FROM THE

SECOND LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT OF THE PROVINCE OF
BATANGAS TO CONSTITUTE THE LONE LEGISLATIVE
DISTRICT OF THE CITY OF BATANGAS

Be it enacted by the Senate and House olRepresentatives olthe Philippines in

Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. Lone Legislative District. - The City of Batangas is

2 hereby separated from the Second Legislative District of the Province of
3 Batangas to constitute the Lone Legislative District of the City of Batangas,
4 which shall commence in the next national and local elections after the
5 effectivity of this Act.
6 SEC. 2. Incumbent Representative. - The incumbent Representative
7 of the Second Legislative District of the Province of Batangas shall continue
8 to represent the said district until the new Representative of the Lone
9 Legislative District of the City of Batangas shall have been elected and
10 qualified.

SEC. 3. Rules and Regulations. - The Commission on Elections shall

2 issue !he necessary rules and regulations to implement !his Act.

3 SEC. 4. Repealing Clause. - All laws, rules and regulations which are

4 inconsistent with !his Act are hereby repealed, amended or modified

5 accordingly.
6 SEC. 5. Effectivity Clause. - This Act shall take effect fifteen (15)
7 days after its publication in any newspaper of general circulation.
