I. NAME OF COOPERATIVE

Satoca Agrarian Reform Cooperative

II. BACKGROUND/HISTORY

Satoca Agrarian Reform Cooperative was duly registered cooperative with the Cooperative
Development Authority (CDA) under CDA Registration No. 9520-10632969 dated February 23, 2016 at
Sitio Matikluhob, Brgy. Cpo., Himoga-an, Sagay City, Negros Occidental. It has twenty six (26)
cooperative members. All of the member are family and relatives which composes of government
workers, sugar planters, fisher folks and farmers. It is permitted to be engage in production and trading
of sugar cane, rice, swine, agricultural product, selling of farm and organic products, fertilizer and farm
equipment and labor. Its vision is to build a better society, to improve lives and help the community.
And with the mission of to embed for the economic and informative upliftment of the members, practice
the essential values of Cooperative and contribute to communal development by providing quality
Cooperative services and programs. Its objective is to provide goods and services to its members and
thus enable them to attain increased income and savings , investments, productivity and purchasing
powers.

III. REGULATORY AND STATUTORY REQUIREMENTS

Satoca was duly registered in Cooperative Development Authority (CDA). It has business permit issued
by the local government and sanitary permit issued by government city health office.

IV. COOP PROFILE

On February 23, 2016, Satoca Agrarian Reform Cooperative was established and it is operated and
managed by family members and relatives only. They don't have associate members for they are a close
type cooperative comprising twenty six (26) regular members. They elected their Chairman, Board of
Directors, Treasurer and Manager to manage their cooperative and also appointed their education
committee, credit committee, audit committee and election committee. They don't have staff. All of their
members are voluntarily working for the success of their co-op. They had been partnered with LGU-
Sagay City and province of Negros Occidental. They are also affiliated with Sagay City Cooperative
Development Council located at Sagay City.

V. EXISTING PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

Their products are sugarane, rice, organic products, fertilizer, farm equipment and labor. They also have
seaweed sticks, squidrings, veggie pasta, special bagoong, chili garlic sauce, and squash jam.

VII. MEMBERS’ BENEFITS

Each Satoca member has his/her own SSS and PhilHealth.

VIII. ASSESSMENT

Satoca's asset size is micro. Interms in the size of their membership, they have only twenty six (26)

regular members. Its net surplus On 2017's is 83, 405.17 pesos while on 2018's is 90, 094.85. Therefore,

Satoca's net surplus is increased by 6,689.68 pesos.

IX. FINANCIAL ANALYSIS

Satoca Agrarian Reform Cooperative is still growing we can't clearly say that it is reallt stable
since their cashflow activities are increasing.
We've compare their Cash Flow from 2017 and 2018's Cash Flow. Giving us the result that this
cooperative is still expanding.

X. IDENTIFIED EXISTING

They recently encountered problems in CDA . They have to update their tax exemption in Bureau to
Internal Revenue (BIR)

XI. APPLICATION OF 7 COOPERATIVE PRICIPLES

Satoca is a close type Cooperative that is why they are not open to any member other than his
family member. They dont practice the first principle of Cooperative which the open and voluntary
memberships.Democratic member control, every member had been given a chance to vote for their
Chairman, Board of Directors, Treasurer and Manager to manage their cooperative.Every member of
Satoca Agrarian Reform Cooperative contributed equitability capital in their cooperative. They
supported all the activities of their cooperative either socially or financially. They have their rules
and regulations or policies they don't rely on outside regulations. They also engage in training and

seminars to alleviate it's members knowledge. They been part of every year's Co-op celebration.
They are doing outreach program to their choosing community.

XII. PROPOSED ADDITIONAL/CHANGE ON THE FOLLOWINGS

Interms in products and services, we propose that they add smoked and dried fish and homemade

organic sardines as a new product. Their office structure we suggests to improve their ventilation. They

should have to add tables and chairs and a glass stands for displaying their products.We proposed good

ventilation or air conditioner and more office equipments, tables,chairs and a glass stand for product

displays. Satoca's Sagay Branch located at mini mall is their first branch. Their main office is located at

Himoga-an.In terms of membership requirements there is no problem regarding this because every

member in this cooperative complied their requirements needed for them to be part of their cooperative.

XIII. COOP BEST PRACTICES

Their best practices that we have observe is their uniqueness in terms in operation and management of
their cooperative. They treat their members as family.

XIV. RECOMMENDATION

They should have produced magazines or pamphlets so that if their somebody or someone would
inquire or would be interested they will have something to show and their costuners would be more
aware of what they are investing with. They should also have their own website to cater more customers
and inquirers.
