Breastfeeding Reduce Taxable Gestational Diabetes Risk

Breastfeeding is not only good for the health of the baby, but also the health of the
mother. If breastfeeding plays an important role in the growth and formation of immune infants,
mothers who regularly breastfeed the babies are also protected from a variety of malignancies,
including gestational diabetes.

Based on the research, in addition to lower breast cancer risk, exclusive breastfeeding
may also reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes in women with gestational diabetes. After the mothers
exclusively breastfed for more than three months, it is already showing differences in metabolites
or metabolic significant results compared to mothers lactation him only briefly.
"The period of breast-fed longer associated with changes in the production of
phospholipids and concentration of branched chain amino acids in the mother's blood plasma,"
said study author Daniela Much, from research institutions in Germany, Helmholtz Zentrum
Munchen.

In a previous study, the metabolite associated with insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes
Sandra Hummel also of Helmholtz Zentrum Munchen added, the findings add new knowledge
that lactation affects the metabolism which gives a protective effect.

It also reinforces previous research that showed that exclusive breastfeeding for more
than three months have been given a protective effect for 15 years to mothers with gestational
diabetes. If exclusive breastfeeding for six months is done, the protective effect to be better.
Breastfeeding should also continue until the child is two years old.

Here are five benefits of breastfeeding for maternal health:

1. Burn calories: Your body burns about 20 calories to create one ounce of milk. "If your
baby drink 19-30 ounces a day, about 380-600 calories it will burn," said Joy Kosak, co-
founder of Simple Wishes.
2. Preventing disease: A study found that the longer women breastfeed, the more protected
against some types of cancer, such as ovarian and breast cancer. Breastfeeding can also
potentially reduce the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and osteoporosis.
3. Avoid stress postpartum: Kosak said, women who stop breastfeeding or not breastfeeding
at all are at higher risk of developing postpartum depression than mothers with
breastfeeding.
4. Shrink the uterus: exclusive breastfeeding helps the uterus shrink back to its original size
before pregnancy. "When feeding the baby, the woman's body will release the hormone
in large doses, namely oxytocin.
Oxytocin or "bonding" hormone as it's commonly known to transmit a feeling of
relaxation and euphoria to the brain, "said Elisabeth Dale, author of" Boobs: A Guide to
your Girls ".
5. Protect infants from various diseases: Besides good for the health of the mother, of
course breastfeeding is good for babies. Breast milk contains all the vitamins and
nutrients needed for the first six months of a baby's life. Along with disease-fighting
substances that are designed to protect your child from obesity, diabetes, asthma, and
other diseases.
