II. CONTENT
A. Art History Yarn paintings made by the Huichol people. Natural glue,
made from tree resin and beeswax, is applied to a board,
and yarn is pressed into it and left to harden. The designs
and symbols on the Nierikas are based on their myths,
stories and personal daily activities.

B. Art Production Create a design that shows a variety of shapes and lines
by the process of yarn painting

Originally yarn paintings were from the Huichol Native


Americans. Yarn paintings are literally what they sound
like, paintings made of yarn. Almost all Native Americans
did not have a written language. Instead what many of
them did was draw or paint their stories in various ways.
The Huichol had different ways of doing this but developed
a unique way of using dyed yarn and resin to make
pictures.

3. Put some glue in the design
4. Apply the yarn in the design, any colors are acceptable
and let the artwork dry
