2. What are the suspension parameters that affect vehicle dynamics? list them
and justify any 5 parameters.
3. What are coil-overs? explain briefly its advantages and disadvantages.
OR
What is knuckle? With your imagination draw a rough sketch of knuckle.
4. A vehicle tends to pitch, roll and yaw. What suspension parameter(s) may
be the cause and what changes in suspension parameter(s) can reduce
these effects?
5. What is Motion ratio? Explain the effect of the same on the vehicle
performance.

OR

Research on kinematic points in suspension geometry and explain it in brief.

BRAKING

1 What are the two important types of brakes used in commercial road
vehicles? Distinguish between them.
2 What happens to the center of gravity of the vehicle when brakes are applied?
if there is any change in CG, explain why?
3 A 200 kg vehicle is symmetrically loaded longitudinally and is moving at
60kmph on a horizontal road, it stops in 20 meters. The distance between the
front and rear axle is 1.8m.Assuming it decelerates constantly, and its CG
height is 480mm. find the percentage load on the front axle while braking?
4 What is mechanical advantage? What term used in braking means ‘mechanical
advantage’?
5 Mention different types of brake fluids and distinguish between them.

Electrical and Electronics

1. Design 12V 10Ah lithium ion battery pack.

(Assume individual cell voltage 3.7V nominal and capacity 2000mAh)

2. Simulate and study behavior of a Battery under Charging and Discharging

condition using MATLAB(Simscape).

3. What are the different traction motors available? Explain working of any one.
Draw speed-torque characteristics of different DC motors.
4. What are the different power converters available? Explain working of
voltage buck convertor.
