COVER PAGE MANDATORY DIRECTIONS

The following instructions are to ensure that students submit their scripts (Documents)
for marking. Please, note that it is the student’s responsibility to ensure that their
scripts are submitted to the required location. Scripts submitted to other locations will
not be considered for marking.
To submit your document(s) to the required location, follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the START button
2. Select LOG OFF and log off the current user [MANDATORY]
3. Enter the following information to Log on as the current user:
a. Enter <your ID number> as User Name
b. Enter <Begin123e> as Password
c. At ‘Log on to’ dropdown and select <GIMPAIT>
NB: This might take a few minutes but will eventually log you on to the GIMPA
network. When logged on, do the following:
2. Click on the START button
3. Click on the MY COMPUTER
4. Locate network drives
a. Under network drives you will see a network-drive icon bearing your index
number, with the inscription <your ID Number> on GIMPA Server’
5. Double Click on <your ID number> on GIMPA Server icon to open
a. This is where you will “SAVE” all your documents
b. Note: You may draw the invigilator’s attention if you think you need help in
saving your documents
6. Remember to go through this process to save your documents (work) each time.

7. All documents created must bear a name(your index –number) and kept in this
folder(drive)
Other Instructions
Please read these instructions carefully before you start work.
1. No storage devices (pen drives etc) are admitted into the computer Laboratory.
Candidates are to note that it constitutes an offence to carry such devices on
their body into the computer laboratory during examination. It does not matter
whether those devices are not intended to be used. Please, for the
avoidance of doubt, declare to have your body searched before starting the
examination.
2. Read “COVER PAGE MANDATORY DIRECTIONS ABOVE “carefully and
follow all directions. Fifteen(15) minutes will be set aside for this exercise

What is information to one person, at a point in time, may become data at


another time. In similar manner, what is data to one person may be information to
another. Hence, data and information vary from point to point and from person
to person depending on time, form and content of the output. As can be seen
from Figure 1.2 information has dimensions. What constitute information depends on
the perspective of the end user.
