2. Revisit the features of news report after last week’s group activity.
3. Discussion on the structure, register, techniques/features, and guidelines in writing
formal report. The teacher gives emphasis that they should always consider the
audience of the report, grammar, and time connectives.
4. The teacher explains the marking scheme and planning.
5. Answering the task for formal report.

DAY 4:
2 PERIODS Formal Report
1. Adopt a Word
2. The students continues their formal report.
3. Revising and peer, individual editing.

DAY 5:

3 PERIODS: Creating Ted Talk

4. Adopt a Word
5. Present a video clip of Ted Talk to the students. The students examine the following
using worksheets.
a. Speaker’s appearance and manner of speaking
b. Features of speech
6. The teacher tells the students that they will prepare a speech and powerpoint for their
topic. Also, they need to use persuasive techniques effectively, establish claims, and
provide evidence and reasoning.
7. The students will be given maximum of 5 minutes for their presentation.
8. The teacher will suggest topics but the students will be given freedom to choose.
