NARRATIVE REPORT ON GPP ADVOCACY CAMPAIGN

Every year, the Division of Surigao del Sur is searching for the best implementers
of the Gulayan sa Paaralan Program to establish and promote agricultural arts program.
This program aims to improve and increase vegetable production and consumption of
food which are applicable to their homes and important for their household security. It also
aims to establish school gardens to serve as main source of food to sustain
supplementary feeding. It also showcase small-scale production models in schools to be
replicated in the household. And we all know, most of the learners in any places of our
country belong to poor families and have greater possibility of dropping out in their basic
education just because of hunger and malnutrition in school and besides helping their
parents to earn a living.

Thus, “Gulayan sa Paaralan” also conducted some activities by year level from
grade 7 to 12 to help students understand more the importance of vegetables in our body
through poster making contest, quiz bowl and landscaping contest. Quiz bowl winner was
grade 11 selected students and the Quiz Masters were May Ann C. Payot and Carolyn C.
Caybot .Poster making winner was grade 12 students, judges were Jessa Balucas, Jade
Fraga and Gerry Chel Aga.the said teachers were also the judges of Landscaping contest.
Landscaping contest was competed by grade 4 to 6 only. This activity or GPP Advocacy
Campaign enlightens and teaches our beloved students to plant more vegetables not only
in the school premises but also to the community.
