“You treat a disease, you win, you lose. You treat a person, I guarantee you, you'll win, no matter what
the outcome”. A Fact-based tale of Hunter "Patch" Adams (1998), the founder of the Health Clinic, a
clinic that deals with humor and pathos in its patients. The movie begins with Hunter admitting himself
to a mental ward as a patient. While there, he observed the other nurses loved helping and encountered
the employees cold and distinct from the patients. Hunter Adams is an extrovert person who wants to
bring joy and have a mutual relationship with every patient at the hospital. He uses his humor to
connect with every people he met. He pulled himself out of the mental hospital to change his way of
living and went to Virginia Medical College to start his studies about medicines. His unorthodox
practices drew him against many of the university's physicians and department heads, despite getting
most of the highest grades in his class. Recognizing that many helpless individuals have not been
treated, as a student he has created a Medical clinic to help those who have not received adequate
therapy at the hospital. However, this brought him to the Medical Review Board for practicing without a
permit.
